Even better than the pictures!! Just make sure you do your homework about all the rules and how to get there. Also make sure you're in good shape. Even if you're taking the bus instead of hiking the Inca trail- there is still some moderate...More

This is an amazing beautiful site. It involves a lot of walking, including significant climbs. It was well worth it to see the fantastic Inca ruins and the llamas.

This is such an amazing place. You take a bus, take a train, hike a walled passageway and suddenly emerge in this hidden city. It is hard to believe that people were here, let alone that they were able to build this site without tools....More

Who has not heard about Machu Picchu and seen pictures? The reality far exceeds the expectation. Machu Picchu was on our bucket list. You get up there taking the bus ride to the entrance, it is a narrow and busy road. Magnificent views of the...More

Arrived at the back door after trek and it really is a spectacle, although there are others equally good without 1000's of tourists if you know where to go.

Machu Picchu is everything you expect it to be and more. There are lots of ups and downs in the site which is not surprising as it is built on the top of a hill, but there are also lots of flat areas. It was quite...More

It is extremely touristy but something you have to bite through. First buses depart at 5:30am from Aguas Calientes. We got in line at 5am and the queue in front of us was about 300 meters long. In the end we got on our bus...More

From Aguas Calientes, we got the bus to the top (return ticket) and were lucky not to have to wait very long. There is a walking route if you're determined enough. At the top I noticed left luggage, toilets and a cafe but didn't use...More

Last year entrance was 60$. Can't say about guide, as it depends on the package you take. I have seen 2-3 days tours that start from 300$ but include transportation etc.
