It was amazing experience!!! I was a bit worried about rainy season but it didn't change much - stunning views were there for everyone. The only thing - it started to rain when we got to the top of Machu Pichu Mountain - so it's better to get there as soon as possible (there are two turns- If you go... More

To view Machu Picchu after doing a 4D / 3N hike to get there was complete satisfaction but to view such an amazing "wonder of the world" is truly a once in a lifetime experience. I would recommend a guided tour and to arrive early to beat the crowds. The one negative about Machu Picchu is the number of tourists... More

There is a reason thousands of tourists flock here everyday. Would recommend hiking the inca trail or salkantay trail instead of just taking a bus to the site if you can fit that into your itinerary. Cheers

Machu Picchu is the pinnacle of Peru and this Incan empire should not be missed. My boyfriend and I spent the day there a year ago and it is one of the most breathtaking views I have ever seen. There are options to hike into Machu Picchu which takes about three days, or you can do a day there. If... More

I've been wanting to visit this place ever since I saw a documentary about it on National Geographic. It is truly a wonderful sight to see! You will be amazed at what the Incas have built with what little technology they had. The more you learn about the place, the more fascinated you become. Everywhere you look is very picturesque.... We ended our Inca Trail trek at Machu Picchu and felt a real sense of achievement. We would recommend doing it this way if you can. Machu Picchu itself is very impressive, particularly when you see it for the first time at the Sun Gate. Our one issue was the sheer number of visitors. When we actually entered the site... More

This is absolutely must see location of ancient Inka's. I was in Lima for vacation so I flu to Cusco first and stayed in hotel, can't remember name at this time and I was surprised that they have oxygen tanks in rooms. Soon I discovered why. Cusco has elevation of 11152 ft(3600m). During the night I felt like I don't... More

There are many wonderful places to explore in Peru, and Machu Picchu is one that is really beautiful to see. There is a lot of hiking and climbing there so be prepared in advance with good hiking boots or at the least good tennis shoes. Definitely bring a good camera for pictures to capture the beauty of the ruins and... More

I've been to many places around the world but Machu Picchu takes the cake as of right now. First things first, get to the bus stop that takes you to the mountain top early. I cannot stress that enough, the lines got packed QUICK and we had to wait about 45 minutes to board a bus. There is a restroom... More

My wife and I went in late November and the weather was great. I was scared because of many reports that it could rain (non-stop rain was projected) but besides an occasional rain every once in a while (which would last for a few minutes) it was not bad at all. Make sure to go early so that you can... More
