A really special place where you can relax and have views over the Amazon rainforest. Laid back atmosphere where you really feel and are in somewhere different and off the beaten track.

Very nice walk on the malecon. Souvenier shops. Cafes. A ships wreck. At night you can wach street artists. And there you also find the "Dawn on the Amazon Cafe" - worth a visit.

Museums and restaurants line the mall, clowns perform, and hippies sell their own macrame wares to stay high above the Amazon.

If you are in Iquitos this place is worth a stroll. You can picked up some souvenirs as well in one of the many small stands.

Not the prettiest malecon I've been to, but come for the views of the river and the jungly swamp. Prettiest at sunrise and sunset, I found it to be really crowded in the evenings and nights. We walked past entire communities of shacks on stilts...More

It is wonderful to walk along the Malecon late in the afternoon before the sun goes down. The children are playing, entertainers are making music, and the souvenir sellers and artists set up their wares. You can also access many of the tourist places -...More
