Resembling a type of small bread (panecillo), this hill makes an excellent observation point over Quito and features La Virgen del Panecillo, a majestic sculpture that can be seen from any location in the city.

We found this a better place to see the city view than the Telefriqo. Hotel advice was not to walk up so took the city tour bus. You can pay to go in and climb higher but we felt it doesn't add that much height...More

We loved the view and all the Ecuadorian families having fun there. We took a cab out of caution for crime but up top it is a fun family atmosphere

It’s a nice place to spend not more than one hour. Partially difficult to reach (better by taxi or similars), bad mobile connection. By the other hand, guides are nice and helpful inside the place and the artisans are a most. You should try some...More

The virgin with the wings can be seen from most parts of Quito. We were strongly advised not to walk up because of risk of robbery so we took a taxi from the old town. The statue is on top of a hill and you...More

El Panecillo is the Virgen Mary up in the hill top and one can go all the way up and take pictures and see the view of the city. One of the best excursions was El Panecillo and the old town. We purchased the excursion...More

Must see if you travel to Quito with some amazing views especially when it is a clear day when you can see multiple volcanoes and the whole historic center.

Mugged and stabbed on the way up so never actually saw the view. Get a taxi even during the day! Sure it's lovely otherwise!

Visited this place as part of our city tour. Spent around 45 minutes at this place. It offers great view of the city. If we had the time, we would have walked up the mountain.

You can go into the virgin mary itself and walk up a few flights of stairs for a small price, but the view is just as good from the hill. There is an interesting museum inside too, but it mostly covers the construction of the...More

Definitely not 24 hrs. To be honest the view from the base of the statue is worthwhile.
