We were not interested too much in the Guayasamin Museum and just wanted to see the capilla del hombre. But the museum and a tour were included in the price, so we gave it a try. And we were happily surprised, the tour and the...More

The wonderful art and collections of Oswaldo Guayasamin are must-sees. Solid guided tours (mostly in castellano, but English as well). It's in an interesting barrio, up a steep hill (the fit should walk it; makes it more of a pilgrimage), just above standard Latin American...More

We were traveling with two teenagers, and we all loved the Guayasamin Museum, which is his former home, immediately adjacent to the Capilla Des Hombres, which we also highly recommend. There is a small admission fee to the Museum, but it is worth it. There...More

Guayasamin's intention to bring his work together in his home country makes for a very interesting tour -- seeing his studio, home along with his art and collections. The guided tours gave insight into the artist and the country. Brought home one of his prints...More

Interesting art collection, beautiful house and views. Worth the trip - take a taxi or Uber it's a long up hill walk!

The building is very interesting but we found his art pretty depressing so did not really enjoy our visit there.

I had never heard of this man, but we were staying fairly close to the museum so we walked over. Most interesting. We ended up spending half of the day here. Guides were great and house was amazin.

The location includes the artists home and studio and purpose built gallery. A very impressive exhibition of this very important South American artist. His home has been preserved as it was when he was laivew

We had an illustrative tour through the house which Guayasamin at older age already protected to be a museum. Particularly his studio is a wonderful place to be: see the tables and tools used by the artist to do his smaller and bigger works.

it's pretty out of the way up some steep hills. get a taxi, it's a cheap fare and a difficult walk, especially if it's hot.
