This valley vista opens up before you and you are gobsmacked by the amazing hemmed in valley that is farmed by peasants who must bring their proce up to market on a diet trail. WOW! The volcano is dormant and tbe soil is rich.

We visited Pululahua as part of our quick tour of Quito’s ‘outlying attractions’ (ie with Mitad del Mundo and Teleferico) and were very impressed by the crater. Nice little coffee shop/bar there too (although the ran out of beer after our first round). This is...More

My driver stopped here on our way to La Mitad del Mundo. It offers a spectacular view of the mountains, as well as a community living within the crater of a volcano. There are shops selling souvenirs, most of which are the same and may...More

You can walk down into the long dormant volcano but it is a mile back up. There are bathrooms and the overlook area is beautiful

Cool to stand over a dormant volcano but it is just farmland in the Andes mountains. There is a restaraunt, gift shop, and it sits with the Museo del Sol. So worth driving up to.

The Pululahua Volcano area was beautiful, peaceful and very interesting. It was rainy and the crater was filled clouds, but they rolled out enough for us to get a teeny tiny glimpse of the bottom farmlands. There are small shops where you can purchase trinkets...More

The most unique volcano world-wide. It is gorgeous and the viewpoints are spectacular. Easy to reach for those who have accessibility issues. New and clean support areas. A Must See.

We were lucky that we went there on a clear day! The view was simply spectacular! It is worth the drive from Quito. Make sure you pick a sunny day for the visit.

Yes, you can go to the crater without going to the Mitad del Minsk. It’s entirely separate. There’s no charge but you have to register at the gate. Well worth a visit and no need to book a tour. You can just do it by taxi.
