- mxshaverCleveland, Ohio26 contributionsGreat Views, Watch Your StepGreat view of the city. The view from the terrace closest to the top is the best view in my opinion, as the top is crowded and the tallest building is hidden by a tree (which they seemed to be chopping down when I visited, so that may not be the case anymore. The stairs are worn and slippery, so be careful on the way down and use the handrail.Visited November 2023Traveled soloWritten November 10, 2023
- Snot FinderCasper, Wyoming478 contributionsBeautiful and historicThis small hill is the historic center of Santiago and is a restful green space in the city center. There are old buildings and monuments and it did not seem crowded at all. highly recommend a visit - we went twice.Visited December 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten December 31, 2023
- VWOzWest Haven, Connecticut17 contributionsWorth the walk. This is a beautiful site. The walk up the hill is manageable, and the views are very nice. Wear walking shoes and don't forget to sunscreen. We went early in the morning before the heat of the day. - katravlerLas Vegas, Nevada286 contributionsMust See!I jogged/walked/hiked multiple parks when I came here so had a running pack full of water. This park is mostly climbing - stairs and some cobblestone and some concrete. The stairs are not for someone w balance concerns as uneven and one small railing. Lovely park with great views. Tiolets were locked when I was there and no water available. Bring your own.Visited February 2024Traveled soloWritten February 25, 2024
- Bobcat18793Denver, Colorado278 contributionsNice views and gardensLovely park with many places to rest and explore. Beware the steps are uneven and coated with sand so use the handrails and ascent/descend slowly. The view at the top is wonderful. There were two concession trucks in the park when we visited and there was only one entrance off of Merced Street open with a guard requiring you to sign in. Didn’t see any restrooms.Visited March 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten March 17, 2024
- Giuseppe CincindellaRosyth, United Kingdom2,119 contributionsNice place to visitNice place to see, in front of one of the stops of the touristic bus, not far from the city center. Historical site in Santiago, Nice building and beautiful view from the top. The walk is quite steep sometimes, narrow steps with handrails. - Christian MCopenhagen, Denmark6,082 contributionsBeautiful view of many kinds of loveCerro Santa Lucia is the most beautiful and interesting city park we have ever experienced. The mirador at the top of the park alone is worth all the many crooked steps. You get a phenomenal overview of the surrounding city, and the reflections of the trees in the glittering skyscrapers are worth many photos. Note that the park consists of many levels, each with its attractions, so it's worth moving around the entire fine little hill. In several places in the park, love unfolded so beautifully. We saw both men and women - and men and men - kissing passionately and completely undisturbed. Lovely to experience such great tolerance here in South America.Visited March 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten March 21, 2024
- TAMAN1951Liberty Lake, Washington8,651 contributionsGreat viewsNice spot to walk about and get some great views of the city. Some spits afford vistas of old snd new architecture, side by side. Old seems to be shorter and bigger individual apartments whereas the new structures are taller with smaller units. Pleasant. Worth a visit.Visited March 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten March 24, 2024
- VickiLondon, United Kingdom672 contributionsHistorical & Iconic Park!Explored this historical Park whilst visiting Santiago. It is very big, well maintained and filled with statutes, some old buildings etc. There are some steep steps to climb if you want to get to the top and have a panoramic view of the city and can see the Andes Mountains in the distance on a clear day! In the beautiful Park, there is also a big statue of the founder of Santiago in the garden. There are seats scattered all around the park should you wish to take a rest whilst exploring and you would need comfortable shoes!Visited March 2024Traveled with familyWritten April 4, 2024

For those visiting on a budget this will also help to forgo the need to visit the paid-for skyscraper viewing deck, which, if I recall, was not triflingly cheap. Better still, in my view, was the fountain area and large Chilean flag at the bottom of the park — we really enjoyed the colours and architecture; it made for a beautiful spot to take some photos.Visited April 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten April 27, 2024

We dropped in here on the morning of our departure, and were very pleased we'd made the effort. Ther are lots of stairs, so it's not mobility restricted friendly, but we were well rewarded with great views over the city and the castle was great to see. Also, Neptune's terrace at the end of the park is also impressive.

Cool! It's a hill with a beautiful view. Most of the stairs were closed and access is via a slope. If you don't like walking, I suggest choosing another place to visit.
Up there there are small alleys and tight stairs to reach the highest point. And when it's very crowded you have to wait your turn to get the best view for a photo.
The place is apparently safe, and there are some security guards on the route. Some stalls selling snacks, sweets, water, etc. Be careful not to forget things along the way.
At the entrance/exit it is possible to access a bathroom. But it's really weird because there's someone charging 300 pesos. When asking the guard he replied that he doesn't know anything about bathrooms. A very strange situation: how can someone charge for the use of a public bathroom and the public employee says he is unaware of this fact?! I suggest not using it.

Medium sized park on a steep hill in the center of city, was surprised by how large it was in the city. Some walk paths and flights of stairs are uneven and steep, but reaching the top is so worthwhile. Plan enough time to explore. I suggest go in late afternoon to explore 90 minutes before sunset and then head to the top for sunset views.

Huelen Hill is a small hill in the center of Santiago. The hill is the remains of a volcano, thought to be over 15 million years old. The hill comprises of a large park adorned with facades, stairways and fountains. Go to the top of the hill for great views over the city, popular with tourists. The climb to the top is not too difficult if you are young and fit, however, someone older or physical challenged , may struggled with the accent; the steps are stone and uneven. We cheated and took a taxi, but were still able to appreciate the views and the area.

The hill offers stunning views of the city and the Andes, especially at sunset. It is easy to access by foot or by public transport. The climbs to go to the top, are quite considerable rs, so go with comfortable shoe.
It's a great place for walking. It is an excellent point of visit in Santiago, with its natural beauty. It is an ideal place for those looking to relax and enjoy the urban view with a touch of nature.

Cerritos Santa Lucia offers a pleasant walk in a well maintained garden park. The views of the city and surrounding mountains is fantastic from the castle on top of the hill. Try to get there when the smog is not too bad, either early in the morning or after a rainstorm.

My visit to Cerro Santa Lucia in Santiago, Chile was an enchanting experience. The park is a green oasis in the middle of the city, offering a beautiful panoramic view of Santiago and the Andes Mountains. Walking the well-groomed trails and exploring the historic gardens and fountains was relaxing and invigorating. The climb to the main viewpoint, although a little challenging, was worth it for the stunning views. The place is also rich in history, with several monuments and buildings that tell the story of the city. Without a doubt, an unmissable stop for anyone visiting Santiago.

Think of a place full of history? Each level of the cerro had something to tell.
I was there in the winter and the landscape is breathtaking... but don't be mistaken: the walk is long, and obviously nothing accessible. At first it's a large parallel road, but if you want to get to the main view, you'll need to face narrow paths, with high steps and hardly fit your whole foot.
I did not notice if there was bathroom structure, but I saw one or another open kiosk.
Inside, on the first level, there is a natural cave where they made a place for a fair where the natives sell handmade items like ocarinas, jewelry, carpets, drawings; and there is also a small cafeteria with items typical of the region.
However, it is basically a place to enjoy the view and go to the next, there is not much to do there if not to walk to the view or rest under some shade (or sun if it is too cold).

It's right in the middle of the city
The view is beautiful, from afar you can see Sky Costanera, the mountain range, the sunset between the buildings is very beautiful.
Bathroom is paid (700 pesos)
When leaving, it's worth stopping by the Santa Lucia market, which is in front of the hill on the other side of the street, great prices on souvenirs

Hello, I will be visiting Chile in Dec 2022. What are the current vaccine requirements for US tourist? PCR testing? Masks? Mobility Card? Are hotels, restaurants, public transportation, markets, museums, open to tourist without Mobility Card?

Boa tarde.

A igreja e o santuário é tranquilo.
