Had the morning in Singapore before a cruise. Clarke Quay is named after Sir Andrew Clarke, Governor of the Straits Settlements. In the early years, many merchants traded along the bank of Singapore River. Thus, Clarke Quay naturally became a wharf for loading and unloading goods. At that time, besides rows of warehouses on both sides of the river, there were also many shophouses and factories. With the development of Singapore, it has gradually transformed from a wharf to an integrated entertainment area for nighttime dining and tourism. Just to the west of the River is Circular Street with additional bars and restaurants. In the morning, the area is quiet and mostly occupied by joggers, bikers and other locals exercising. A nice stroll along the riverfront foot path connects to Waterfront Promenade and Merlion Park and provides excellent views of the city, gardens by the bay and signature lion fountain.

Sparse traffic on weekday evenings but becomes lively on Friday and Saturday evenings. The refurbished warehouses now house pubs, bars, and restaurants. Occasional stray joggers would make appearance along the pathway near the restaurants.

A very pleasant river side with lots of interesting features and colours. We went to pick up the River Boat Cruise but also had lunch on the waterfront. Whilst a lovely location doesn’t compare to the Marina Bay Area

This is my first visit here ever since the pandemic. Many of the shops has closed and some parts of the area was also under renovation. The area was rather dead and lacked the vibrant energy and liveliness that it used to be.

Obviously not the same as pre COVID, places boarded up, but looks like a few are reopening. Still plenty of people around to give it its atmosphere. Plenty of choice of eateries and things to do, including walking over the many bridges. Great at night with the lights!

I recommend doing the cruise around sunset to get some photos and to enjoy the serenity of the bumboat. Follow that up with a beer and some finger food at one of the riverside eateries. End your night with a stroll to admire the city lights and get some dessert. Perfect evening in Singapore!

Wow, where do I even begin with Clarke Quay? This vibrant riverside destination in Singapore absolutely stole my heart. From the moment I stepped foot into the area, I was greeted with a lively atmosphere and a captivating blend of colors, sounds, and aromas.

Well this place seems to be getting some renovations done at the moment. It’s a very vibrant place at night time, but during the day, honestly, it was pretty dead. It’s hard to even get something to eat or drink. There is nothing opens until well after 11. If you’re a visitor, don’t expect any shopping or food to be open, but it’s nice enough to walk around , but if you stay late enough you can get a bum boat and have a little tour out into the area where Marina Bay Sands -is it’s quite pleasant

Good place to hangout especially for couples. You can have all kind of food even Indian too. The place is better for nonveg food and boozing, but we enjoyed a lot though we are vegetarian. The food cost is same as of Boat Quay i.e., in fine dine category.
