Pristine beaches. The sand was so fine it feels like flour! The shallow parts extends up to 7-8 meters(?) from the beach, so safe for kids and non-swimmers.
Tip is to go to station 1 area if you want a more relaxed and chill vibe, better beach, and not too many tourists too.

The fine fine white sand was great to walk on. The water is very shallow for quite a bit so easy for non swimmers to enjoy. Lots of activities but sometimes the constant selling of paddle boarding, island hopping, sailing etc was too much. Very kid friendly

White Beach was very crowded and there was a lot of junk in the sand. The sand was very soft, like sugar

I had not been to Boracay for a decade.
While it was a bit more humid than I would have liked on two of the three full days we were there in November 2022, it was also sunny and very warm: ideal for swimming.
There was no seasonal blue-green algae. The water was pristine, and underfoot there are no rocks, so a rare example where one can wade in without reef shoes.
The changes over the past few years have been good. The beach is wider than it was thanks to demolition of some buildings.
The Main Road is almost completely rebuilt, apart from fairly short sections on the way to Yapak (Puka Shell) beach) that still has contractors working on a fix.
The footpaths have become better along the Main Road.
What I most liked, however, was the pure white sand that had little rubbish lying around. The other great feature is the no smoking policy.
Boracay isn't my favourite Filipino island, but it's still worth an occasional visit.

Jesus where do i start? First of all don't be fooled by the lovely pictures you see in the travel brochure or the internet. This isn't the peaceful paradise you were fooled into believing.
Be prepared to be hounded literally every 5 minutes into buying things from hats to cheap plastic sunglasses that they assure you it's a pair of real Raybans, or the free Lancers that constantly try to get you to book activities with them just so they get their cut, massage parlours that aren't even authentic, you'll be sharing a small room full of other people getting one.
Final nail in the coffin for Boracay was the nightlife, yes there's plenty of choices and many other foreigners out here partying however be prepared to be heavily hit on by many trans street workers, as soon as you stop for a few seconds you will be surrounded like your a piece of bread and them being the pigeons. That brings my review on boracay to an end however to be put off from travelling to the Philippines, its a wonderful country and many other options and places here to visit.

The island has lost its way and soul. The lack of urban planning is really telling. The overall vibe has changed. Remnants of the “rehabilitation” are still there and old habits has not changed I.e. garbage.

the weather should be okay, so that's why thats the start of international tourist season. but, with climate change, expect some rain showers too
there are no more parties on the beachfront itself unlike before.
but there are plenty of places you can party that are not on the beach: dance clubs, videoke, live singers, performances, etc
have fun!
Hi I just want to know if my friend don't like hotel accommodation. Is there an apartment or house that I can accommodate?

Definitely! There are a lot of airbnb listings in the island, I advise to message them first prior to booking 👍

Hi, my husband and I had our hotel booking for 2 already but my son and his gf would like to come along. Is it possible for them to come with us and just made additional charges upon check-in? Will they be allowed to enter the island with us?
Graham C

Yes, you can add but you must also book hotel in advance. Everybody who wants to enter the island has to register and show proof of their hotel booking for their stay on the island. Go to Caticlan port. At the front area go through to the left side and there are 2 offices. One is for paying for the boats, and the other is environmental fee. (Compulsory) When paid progress to the central entrance (roped off). After scanning of luggage progress to the right side and through the turnstiles. From there you must also register your name in the area provided and then queue up to get your boat. Transport other side awaits outside the port gate on the right. Have fun !

TripAdvisor please change the “Malay” that’s not the country! I notice all of the above nominees has there country but not boracay! It should have Philippine’s in it!! Just saying
I agree!!!
Just change the name instead of putting the municipality, some people specialy foreigner may think its from Malaysia (Malay).

Why is there no Tourist Police? or no one to help you if there is a problem? I was travelling with my two kids and my husband as a family and we were SEVERLY threatend by a group of drunken russians who partied all night in our neighbour guest resort. We talked to the staff and manager but all were in a state of shock about the rudeness and aggressionlevel coming from those people. They were all extrem fit and muscle and worse extrem high on vodka or else.
As this contininued many nights, after 3 nights i walked right over there with my crying baby on my arm and a very drunken woman told me to put to down the baby "so she could slap my w......emouth!" Wow-this Russians really are the tourists from Hell! No manners, no education an by their tattooes they all look like a big group of inmate escapes. What was totally FRUSTRATING was in fact that the Manager didnt do anything, he hide in is office playing invincible. There is NO Tourist Police like in other places in the world and the real Police of Borocay asked if there is a fight and as we denied they somply hang up the phone!!! So Mr. Duterte we hope that not only will the island be clean in 2018 but as well safe for woman with children who get harrassed and terroized by drunken russian mafia tourists-thank you for listening.
