About
Philippine Fun Divers, Inc. is a PADI 5-Star Instructor Development Dive Resort located at the heart of Alona Beach, Panglao, Bohol, Philippines and we opened the dive center 01 Feb 2008. We offer the full range of PADI regular and specialty courses. We teach in English, Japanese, German, French, Spanish, Italian, and Filipino. Instructor Development Courses are conducted at least 4 times a year or as the need arises. Please check the IDC link in our website for dates. We teach EFR Instructor Courses. We conduct boat dives, beach dives, early morning dives, night dives and day trips. We dive at 21 dive sites around Panglao including Balicasag Island, plus the dive sites at Cabilao Island and Pamilacan Island. We book room accommodations for you primarily with Lost Horizon Beach Resort or other resorts if the need arises, arrange airports and ferry ports round trip transfers as well as sightseeing tours. We are open 365 days a year :) from 8:00am till 6:00pm. Welcome to paradise!

Chose to work with PFD after assessing the other options for dive operators on Panglao. It was the absolute best decision of the trip, PFD staff are masters of their craft. Top-notch service combined with some of the friendliest personalities you'll meet, plus really reasonable pricing. You can tell they care genuinely for the students' learning and want them to enjoy diving safely, unlike my experience with other operators who aren't as careful and deliberate. I'd recommend PFD to both diving students looking to get their next certification with an exceptional operator and world-class dive sites, or casual divers just looking to have a great time in one of the globe's diving gems.

I have been visiting Philippine every year past five years and Philippine Fun Divers is the only shop I repeated since last service was so excellent and dive sites in Balicasag Island and Pangloa Island were also so exceptional!! I went back again from the end of last year till this new year for six days and every day was filled with excitement and great underwater photo opportunities. Rena, and other guides are all very professional and showed me a lot of tiny and large things I would miss if I’m only myself alone during the dive. Diving boats and all the arrangements were very well maintained and organized. I would love to come back here again and of course I will dive with Philippine Fun Divers again!

After looking at various dive shops on Alona beach, I decided to go with Philippine Fun Divers and I knew they would be good, but they greatly exceeded my expectations. I was looking for a knowledgeable Open Water Course instructor and Frank was nothing short of amazing. He was extremely thorough and competent. I STRONGLY recommend them if you’re looking to get certified and are looking for good people to train with. You won’t regret it.

We had an amazing experience thanks to each and every single member of that Team. Starting with the guys who were helping on the boats and on land with the gear, super pleasant people who make sure everything goes smooth and that you are well taken care of. Liza has been of an amazing help and guidance every day. Dive Masters made sure we got the most out of our dives. And last but not least your Instructors - Ole, in particular who has proven to be an outstanding professional doing the Open Water Course with our two sons. His passion, devotion and patience has been incredible. He made sure our kids know and understand well what they needed to know to be able to enjoy diving safely. I could not imagine or ask for a better fit for our boys. Once again thank you to the whole Team for that experience and I shall recommend you to anyone going diving to Bohol.

Two of the best dives of my life were with Phillipine fun divers last month.
I am an Advanced Open Water diver and I did a total of 4 dives at Balicasag Island in Janurary 2023. The weather had been iffy around those days, sometimes raining heavily. Despite that, this diving trip was really memorable for me.
The diving instructor, Ms Rena, has a great personality and makes sure the group stays together underwater. She also helped me out with great tips regarding mobility underwater.
The staff is kind and professional, and the instructors know what they are doing. They take the "fun" part of the name seriously.

Before departure, I checked three diving shops. Only this shop could provide me with a detailed itinerary and price, which made me feel reassured. The price is also very reasonable. The guide was attentive and funny. During the dive, he introduced us to different marine life and took care of our safety. The other crew members were also very kind.

Such a memorable experience for my kids to get an intro to diving with Philippine Fun Divers. The staff are all friendly, knowledgable and professional! They made sure the kids understood the mechanics of diving and were safe in the pool and in the open water. We would definitely come back again! PLUS They have a great spot along Alona beach! Non-divers waiting for divers can definitely hang out and chill by the beachfront :)

Thank you for your lovely responds. It would be amazing to have your kids back here to get them to the next level (including parents 😃 ). And yes, that is one of the beauties of Alona, kiddos are busy with knowledge and skills developments and the parents can sweat off a beer along the beach, hehehe.

Philippine Fun Divers and Ole our guide was brilliant! We weren’t sure about completing the whole open water certified diver qualification at first (as both of us were new to scuba diving) so we decided to try the discover scuba diving course. This was great as we got to practice skills in the pool then complete our first dive in the sea! After that we decided to complete the rest of the course so our first five was included and the price we paid for it was taken off the total. We also saw some brilliant wildlife during our dives including some sea turtles!
We couldn’t thank Ole enough - he made sure we felt comfortable and at ease with all the exercises and dives and took some amazing photos during our time in the water. Definitely go with Philippine Fun Divers if you are in Bohol!

Ole certified me as Divemaster. He is the best instructor I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Highly professional, patient and diligent. He trained me very well and quickly. If you get a chance to go here and meet him you are lucky he really works hard and is a knowledgeable person. My skills literally improved overnight and I am eternally grateful to this man for the experience gained. Thank you Ole! Keep up the good work!!

Had an awesome experience at Philippine Fun Divers. Arranged the trip very last minute and Liza was very helpful in answering all my questions, booking everything and sending the online material to study with not much time.
I did my Open Water Course with Ole, who was a fantastic instructor and a great bloke. He was very professional and his instruction was very clear and concise. Ole makes sure you know exactly what to do and why you are doing it, which instills confidence once you start your Open Water dives. Most importantly it was a lot of fun learning from him, which has only encouraged me to continue on to my Advance.
Everyone at the shop was very friendly and happy to lend a hand or give some advice. Will be going back with my family in the future. Would highly recommend Philippine Fun Divers!

I’ve no experience before.
I suggest to take the OW certification course directly.
Now I just regret that I didn’t arrange the AOW course right after the OW.
That means if you have enough days u can try to pass the OW + AOW total 5 days course I think.

Could you please give me an indication how large the groups are on a fun dive. How many divers per dive master? - Obviously I prefer smaller groups and made very unpleasant experience recently. Thank you for you help.

Hi. Our fun dive groups are generally small. In average 2 to 4 divers per divemaster. We never mix experienced with inexperienced divers. If you wish to have a one and one, i.e. for check-up dive, that’s no problem too.

Yes they can because it will be provided the appropriate safety gear as long as you tell them your non-swimmer they will provide you guide you and assist you. Ultimately safety is of your concern so if you feel on comfortable swimming and you are non-swimmer you should at least take some lessons before you venture out in the open water.
