Let's be honest.
We hired to go to Balicasag to snorkel and we joined the group of divers. Everything is fine.
But the experience, at least in snorkeling, has been strange.
Nobody has said anything like "hello, I'm the person in charge. The guide. The instructor" whatever. You get on the boat and you don't even know how many dives you're going to do, or where, or anything.
When you arrive at the first point they tell you: you can snorkel there. Do not go too far. We pick you up "there". "There" as a word in the middle of 10 boats and with a strong current does not help much once you are alone in the water. We swam back against the current. OKAY. no problem.
From there we spent 40 minutes collecting the divers who were going little by little. okay. no problem.
We reach another point and no one says or explains anything. After spending 10 minutes seeing that everyone was drinking coffee, we asked. And they told us that if we wanted we could swim (snorkel) there. okay. so we did.
From there we spent 40 minutes collecting the divers who were going little by little. okay. no problem.
And from there directly to panglao.
I don't doubt that the diving activity with them is great, but snorkeling makes no sense. It's my third time in the Philippines and it's the first time I've felt like "I don't know what I am doing in this boat." I feel like I've been transported and no one cared if I snorkeled, if not, if there were turtles, if everything went ok....etc....
Not recommended for snorkeling.
Not everything goes in tourism. You have to demand a minimum of quality.

Philippine Fun Divers and Ole our guide was brilliant! We weren’t sure about completing the whole open water certified diver qualification at first (as both of us were new to scuba diving) so we decided to try the discover scuba diving course. This was great as we got to practice skills in the pool then complete our first dive in the sea! After that we decided to complete the rest of the course so our first five was included and the price we paid for it was taken off the total. We also saw some brilliant wildlife during our dives including some sea turtles!
We couldn’t thank Ole enough - he made sure we felt comfortable and at ease with all the exercises and dives and took some amazing photos during our time in the water. Definitely go with Philippine Fun Divers if you are in Bohol!

Had an awesome experience at Philippine Fun Divers. Arranged the trip very last minute and Liza was very helpful in answering all my questions, booking everything and sending the online material to study with not much time.
I did my Open Water Course with Ole, who was a fantastic instructor and a great bloke. He was very professional and his instruction was very clear and concise. Ole makes sure you know exactly what to do and why you are doing it, which instills confidence once you start your Open Water dives. Most importantly it was a lot of fun learning from him, which has only encouraged me to continue on to my Advance.
Everyone at the shop was very friendly and happy to lend a hand or give some advice. Will be going back with my family in the future. Would highly recommend Philippine Fun Divers!

Ole certified me as Divemaster. He is the best instructor I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Highly professional, patient and diligent. He trained me very well and quickly. If you get a chance to go here and meet him you are lucky he really works hard and is a knowledgeable person. My skills literally improved overnight and I am eternally grateful to this man for the experience gained. Thank you Ole! Keep up the good work!!

We booked a discover scuba diving experience for myself and my partner (who hadn't dived before). As it was her first time she was quite nervous.
All staff were very welcoming and friendly the day we booked and the day we went for our dive.
We had a class session before in the sea/pool to get to learn the basics. We had an amazing instructor called Ole. He made us feel extremely safe and made my partners first dive extremely fun, despite her being really nervous! Thank you so much to Ole and the team for an amazing experience and for a good price.
If we were in the area longer, we would have dived with them again or even completed our Padi open water.
Highly recommend this company if you want to have an amazing time diving in the sea!

I went diving with Philippine Fun Divers in April 2023, that 1 day diving wasn't enough so I went back for more in June 2023. The PFD team are all great bunch of people, their positive vibes really added to my whole experience. Had a really good experience diving at Balicasag Island and the various dive locations near Alona beach. I had a really good diving experience cruising along the edge of the reef shelf at the Alona Beach house reef, so much marine life it was bonkers. I also had a really fun and interesting night dive, also at the house reef but cruising the wall. Overall saw some interesting things - some great corals, sea snakes, plenty of turtles, plenty of lion fish, mantis shrimp, school of barracuda and the list goes on.

We took our open water diving course with them. Our instructor Ole was the most amazing part of this experience. He was patient, kind, and most importantly as professional as it could get. Ole was very friendly and made sure that our course was a successful and exciting on. Would definitely recommend this fiving center and shout out to the amazing Ole for making this so special.

I did a refresher course and a single tank dive with these guys and had a great experience. Not diving for many years I felt I needed a refresher. I had Frank spend a morning bringing me back up to speed and actually learned more than my original open water course. Frank was very helpful , very knowledgeable , and very patient making sure all the skills were refreshed. I felt very comfortable getting back into the water. All the staff were super friendly. Wish I could have spent more time diving in Bohol with them. Highly recommend

I visited Philippine Fun Divers since 2015.
I have visited several more times since then, but I visited again after a very long time after the pandemic.
The reason why I visit this shop every time I come to Panglao is that all the staffs are very professional and friendly.
My sister and I have experienced almost every instructor and dive master for about eight years.
So I can highly recommend this diving center.
I would like to thank all the staff.

Do you have experience scuba diving for non certified divers?

I’ve no experience before.
I suggest to take the OW certification course directly.
Now I just regret that I didn’t arrange the AOW course right after the OW.
That means if you have enough days u can try to pass the OW + AOW total 5 days course I think.

Could you please give me an indication how large the groups are on a fun dive. How many divers per dive master? - Obviously I prefer smaller groups and made very unpleasant experience recently. Thank you for you help.

Hi. Our fun dive groups are generally small. In average 2 to 4 divers per divemaster. We never mix experienced with inexperienced divers. If you wish to have a one and one, i.e. for check-up dive, that’s no problem too.
See you in Alona Beach, Panglao, Bohol.
Best regards, Holger.

Hi,
Can non-swimmers snorkel or do scuba?
Ted A
Mount Dora, FL39 contributions
Yes they can because it will be provided the appropriate safety gear as long as you tell them your non-swimmer they will provide you guide you and assist you. Ultimately safety is of your concern so if you feel on comfortable swimming and you are non-swimmer you should at least take some lessons before you venture out in the open water.

Hi there~
I have a plan to visit your dive shop.
But I have something to ask.
Can I have 3 dives one day?
Because last time I got in bohol, of course other dive shop, they have only 2dives one day.
