During our wait for the Underground River Tour, we participated a side Mangrove Boat Tour. Our tour guide was very funny and even sang us a song towards the end of our tour. We saw some wildlife during our tour - monkeys, snakes and large lizards. It was an educating tour and a nice quiet area. Beautiful!

- You will only see the mangrove forest - Didn't see animals - Fee is P350.00 per person - Too expensive and not value for money - 45 minutes boat tour

Nice to see old mangrove forest. We even saw several animals through our tour. There are not many tourists because everyone is in the cave to see undeground river. It is very silent and relaxing place.. Definitely worth it.

While waiting for our turn to ride our boat that will take us to the Underground River entrance, we took a side trip to a mangrove near the port for a paddle boat tour. It was a relaxing morning tour, as our guide told us some interesting tidbits about the importance of mangroves in the ecosystem.

I was ill, but my husband and two late teens did this tour (after they'd done the Underground River Tour in the morning). They thoroughly enjoyed it in their own boat... peaceful and lots of wildlife - snakes, monkeys, monitor lizards. We like to book a private tour where-ever we can and we booked it through John, a taxi driver... More

So happy that we visited this place. The government did a good job protecting the it. You can see monitor lizards, snakes and other wild creatures. You should try Tamilok (Woodworm), yummy.

She said it was great, they got to see lots of snakes hanging from trees and monkeys swimming! I did the ziplining which was a little scary but very exciting!

Compared to the Underground River it is not so breathtaking, but when a guide, normally a tribal man from the local people, and ours was excellent, explains you about the trees, about conservation, shows you some monkeys and snakes, and all in the tranquility of this mangrove forest, it is a must to take part!!

We had a lovely experience on the mangrove tour. Our guide mangrove Mama was very knowledgeable. She gave us useful information about the mangrove preservation and the local wildlife. At the end of the tour we got the opportunity to plant our own mangrove trees. The proceeds from this tour go to preserving and protecting the mangrove.

I visited in November 2015. Most people may bypass this interesting tour, as the underground river is so famous. Plus this mangrove swamp doesn't have the UNESCO World Heritage site endorsement. However, if you have enough time, please do go visit. It's one of the oldest mangrove swamps around, and has some interesting sights eg you may get to see... More
