The guide was extremely annoying and noisy, we couldn't enjoy the ride. He was talking all the time and made us making animal noises to "help fireflies". It was really annoying and destroyed the experience

Paddling through mangroves to see the fireflies would have been a lovely experience if only the boatman and tour guide were not as noisy and as talkative. Dinner on the boat in the middle of the ocean and pitch-black surroundings was uncomfortable and dizzying.

We were told it is not going to be a good visibility as it was full moon. But what an experience that has been! It is like there are Christmas trees all over the place.

Well organized tour. Give the buffet food a miss if you can. The firefly tour was really good. So gentle and peaceful drifting through the mangroves seeing the fireflies light up the trees. Pretty special if you are into nature.

It's nice trip to sightseeing the fireflys in the Mangrove forest. I went alone, but I highly advise couples to go for this trip as it quite romantic.

Really something special - cameras are more or less pointless, nothing will capture the magic of seeing trees lit up with fireflies at night with only the sounds of nature and your guide’s oar gliding through the water. At one point, we could see glowing plankton in the water, fireflies in the trees and the stars in the sky, a mental image I’ll have forever. Beautiful and absolutely worth your time and money!

The firefly tour was well organized including hotel pick up and drop off. Nice and funny guide. The boat tour, especially on the river was so peaceful and since I never saw fireflies before, I actually enjoyed it. The dinner was nothing special and the music during dinner was not very good.

It was raining the whole afternoon before we proceeded to that place. Water in the river was high and had strong current. Trash accumulated beside the dock, the boatmen had to clean. We had dinner first before doing the tour since it had to be dark to do it. Lunch was a simple one, but satisfying. We had 2 navigators in the boat. Upon cruising the river, so dark you can't see anything expect the million stars in the sky, sounds of creatures around. We saw fireflies in a cluster around trees but not all over. It was not exciting I thought it would be.

The boat ride down the river was a special experience with trees lining the water covered in sparkling fireflies. My husband & I commented that they looked like bud lights, so the tour guide caught one from the tree and placed in our hands for us to release.

We were disappointed with this tour due to the way the boat men interacted with the fire flies. After watching a video about their life cycle and finding out they only live for two months; to then watch the men throw copious amounts of water on the fireflies to try and get them to fly for the tourists was horrific. I understand they are trying to make tourists happy however this isn’t ethical. Fireflies that got the water on their wings fell from the trees into the water and drowned. It was very upsetting to see.

This tour is all year round. If you’re lucky, you will even see planktons. Do the one at Baywalk.
Can we bring infant?

Yes. But you cant bring a pram. Also, I cant imagine they have a high chair for the dinner. If you have a carrier/sling, that works best.

Totally agree with the previous comment Krystel. :)
It's located at Ihawig and going there might be short for just about 15-30 minutes but it's night time and Im not sure if there are available public transportation at that time. So better book with your hotel or thru a travel agency. They'll be the one also to process all required permit for the firefly watching. :)
How long we need to book in advance before we come to Palawan?

No booking at all. Just go to the venue, it’s first come, first served. No cut off as well, unless there’s heavy rains.
