I grew up in Palawan and I USED to love this place. I USED to love its pastries. There's nothing really special about this place, but Baker's Hill is a place to relax for adults, to play for kids, and to enjoy eating. I loved it.
BUT now I don't. The place is now full of superficial objects and unnecessary fanciness that makes the place look cheap and try-hard. You can't really relax anymore. The views are covered and you can't stay in there for long. AND THE PASTRIES. They used to be my favorite but now it tastes different, and cheaper. It has lost its quality when it became popular. The crinkles, hopia, and other goods taste substandard. They think we wouldn't notice, but yes we did, it only made it worse. Once it was the best for me, once I was a regular customer, now I vowed to never buy it again. I am gravely disappointed.
You can have good quality without the overly trying-hard fancy and cheesy designs. I agree it's awkward. And being true to your quality will make your past customers and future customers be loyal to you.
I will never go back. Unless they get back on track and thrive. I could only hope.

A single goose in a small cage on a cement base and the numerous peacocks in cages were sad to see. We would not have stayed for lunch had we seen the poor animals first. Our order for a grilled chicken sandwich and a BLT was accepted and then 5 minutes later we were told that the chef was unavailable because there was a buffet in the other restaurant. Therefore we could only get a pizza. Which was just average. We would not recommend this place there is nothing for the right thinking foreign tourist.

This is one place I always go to everytime I visit Puerto Princesa. I love their freshly baked "hopia" (moon cake) and other bread products. There are also quite a number of instagrammable spots. However, the last time I visited it I noticed that some of its facilities have been somewhat neglected. It was also very hot with no shades and covered pathways. I wish they would improve its facilities.

Baker’s Hill simply started as a store where locals and tourists can buy baked goods like hopia and crinkle cookies as gifts. Over the years however, the owners decided to put up a restaurant and botanical garden within the property as added attractions, which is why the place has become a famous landmark in Puerto Princesa. Being in Baker’s Hill will make visitors forget that they are in the Philippines as it resembles an amusement park overseas. There are so many instagrammable spots, and amusing signs related to love that one can read. I was there on Valentine’s Day, and couldn’t think of a much better venue to spend the Day of Hearts. Baker’s Hill is a definite must-see in Puerto Princesa.

I've been coming to Puerto Princesa over the last 10 years, and am now living here. I decided to visit Bakers Hill again after a number of years. This location started small, became quite the hot spot, and has now gone downhill. It has a decent little bakery, but that's about it. Even that is not anything terribly unique. The bakery drew people years ago, it began to add features, lots of eating/food, decor, etc.....but now it's just all tired, and some in poor repair. I pity the animals they have in cages. I guess it could still turn around, but is in bad need of cash infusion, inspiration, cleaning, and someone who really cherishes the nature and animals that could give it all the care it really needs to become a place to truly appreciate. Otherwise, I was surprised to see how much it has lost and has become a bit depressing.

Baker’s Hill would actually be a pretty nice place if the animals were not staying in small horrible cages. I’m so tired to see this and see parents teaching their kids that this is normal.
Anyway, I guess plenty of people won’t care much about this so otherwise the place is nice. An oasis in the middle of the for ever works and mess of Puerto Princesa. Gardens are nice and this place is particularly good if you have kids. There’s one restaurant and it’s a nice one (we ate pretty well), one bakery of couse but as I’m French (the coubtry of the croissant and pain au chocolat) it didn’t look so delicious for me to be fair but I don’t want to judge because I didn’t try at the end cause I didn’t found anything appealing.
You have also some take away shops for other sweets and i’m sure you can have some nice snacks in there.
You have a parking in front of the bakery.
It’s a nice stop for a break.

Part of our group tour. Its a must to go here where you can select various flavors of Hopia and its freshly baked everyday. You can smell from the place because the bakery is also located there. A lot of tourist are buying to bring home these goodies. Our tour guide had us to taste (free taste) of some of the flavors of the hopia. That's why we also bought ours home.

The place was teeming with people despite the Kate hour.
We were able to get a table and have some coffee and cold drinks to go with our pizza and other food.
We tried buying some food delicacies but some items were out of stock by the time we got there.
Imagine a theme park masquerading as a bakery- that’s Baker’s Hill.
Allot more time so you can see more if the place!

Place is LAME, AWKWARD and a must not visit place of the city.
It is somebody else’s backyard with peacocks in cages( poor Animals).
Food stores are not that good at all not even that so called pastry shop.
Local tourists have no discipline at all.
The set up is so artificial with no cultural contents.
One visit is enough to find out never to come back again!!!!
It was just a waste of time.

The place was part of the half-day city tour and was more than disappointing. I tried to find the purpose of the place but I failed. The idea is an amusement park but the implementation of the idea was not successful. The whole environment makes a cheap and boring impression. There are a lot of LOVE-related signs, which brings at the beginning a smile on your face but then it’s so overloaded that it’s gets embarrassing. I can only recommend to avoid this place …. There are better things to be done when you have some free time in PPS.
