Best location to stay in el Nido! Clean, quiet and secluded on the quiet Lio Beach Estate. Lio Beach is quiet and clean with security and secluded.
Best location on the small estate which is isolated and private, with 10 small restaurants, bars, dessert, cafe, stores, spa and pharmacy away from busy el Nido town.
5 min drive from the airport with transfers there and free shuttle bus into town 15-20 mins away.
You can also take tour transfers from the pier and travel agency there. We loved staying there.

I think what makes the Lio Estate special is the top notch staff and the unique collection of restaurants, bars, spa and beach paradise vibe they created here. We stayed at the Seda Lio hotel which has top notch rooms, gym, game room, pool and pool bar. My favorite part of the trip was watching the sunset from the beach while walking to dinner and drinks at the beach area of little restaurants and bars. Almost like an upscale food truck/bar vibe. Have the tacos from the food truck bus and the Swarma next door while enjoying a cold drink under the palm trees at this beach paradise. It feels completely safe here because the resort estate is completely on the Lio Estate property. It is even integrated with the El Nido airport. I loved this little slice of paradise!

We were given the run around in regards to our accommodations three days before touch down in El Nido. Initially we were staying at El Nido Cove resort (due to construction) than 24 hours before check in, changed to another location (also due to construction) and finally ended up here. We were satisfied with the rooms and the grounds but first we had to weed through the miscommunication about our booking (only gave us one room for 7 people) and then we were spread out throughout the resort rather than being in adjacent rooms as requested. The ended up giving us a 3000peso comp at the restaurant to make up for the hassle. The breakfast was well done. The resort is right on the beach and depending on where you stay there are shops and dining experience within walking distance. We took a speedboat tour (boomed through SkipperCharter) and they picked us up and dropped us off from the Lio dock! It was so convenient, I would highly recommend you book through them if you stay here. The rooms were nice with a balcony. Only thing that I found to be a nuisance was there weren’t any drying racks or hooks to hang towels after showering. We resorted to using the drying rack provided on the patio. A couple of friends got the message, good feedback but they weren’t the most affordable (3500 pesos) . We booked our massages in El Nido proper for 600pesos and found them equally satisfying.

Visited Lio for the first time January 2019 as part of a group outing. I had a great time exploring the islands of El Nido and a wonderful stay at Seda. Unfortunately, if the only decent way to get there is via AirSwift, I won’t be returning anytime soon. True, Lio is only 5 minutes from the airport, but Airswift is the only airline with access. Our 6 am flight from Manila was initially delayed to 1030 am and eventually cancelled due to “engine trouble.” We eventually left the next day - if you are travelling with only a limited amount of time, this is particularly irksome. Our return flight back was delayed yet again and at the risk of not leaving at all if no passenger would be generous enough to give up his/her seat due to excessive weight on the plane. The staff had already offloaded most checked in baggages but this was not enough. Eventually, a passenger did generously give up her seat and was promised a seat on the next flight - only to see that flight cancelled. No food or refreshment were offered through all of this. Since the plane obviously reaches a critical overweight number if all seats are taken, the airline should know well enough not to overbook their flights. Lousy airline, lousy service. No matter how beautiful El Nido is, I won’t be going back anytime soon.

I came to this beach a year ago and thought it would be el Nido’s next up and coming beach. I heard the big company Ayala was behind it and seemed it would be a nice addition to el nido. Wow has it gone down! The road getting there is one of the worst I’ve seen in the Philippines yet it’s “paved” and part of a huge expensive development. There’s no clear signs showing where to go once there and the place has no people. Looks like a lot of the shops are closing since last time and it feels empty. Definitely much better places in el nido to check out.

This is a beautiful hotel with good and nice amenities. The staff are warm and friendly and try to be helpful. They gave us early check-in and late check-out to help with coordinating with our flights. This was very helpful to us. The staff are very accommodating in making arrangements for tours and activities for us, especially when we had to make last minute cancellations due to one of us being ill.
However, there were many lapses in service and the food at the hotel was abysmal.
Food:
- Breakfast selection very poor and limited.
- Salads and fruits very wilted and not fresh. Gave us a coconut that was sour and we had to send it back. Even the waitress tried it and spat the juice out.
- Most cooked food was overly salted and soaking in oil. We had to reject an order of fish and chips on our final day as it was so salty that we simply could not consume it.
- FOOD POISONING. My friend had order a local dish of fish soup and developed food poisoning that night. We know the poisoning came from the soup as it was the only thing she had consumed that entire day that I did not eat. She was ill the entire next day and we had to cancel our tour to the islands. The hotel was informed and provided some medication to us. But the most astounding part of this was that at check-out, we found out that they actually billed us for the fish soup that poisoned my friend.
Hotel Service:
Front Desk:
- By far the best service offered within the hotel but not without lapses.
- After placing the booking, they took more than almost 2 weeks to respond to our enquiries and only after Bookings.com threatened to cancel the reservation.
- Over-charged us about 2300 pesos (about USD$43) for breakfasts we did not consume and were unable to explain where the charges came from. So please be careful and check your bills!
- Asked for wake-up call but it never came.
- Promised on many occasions to get back to us with updates but we never hear from them until we call them ourselves for updates.
Restaurant, Bar and Poolside:
- Appears to be understaffed but when you look closely, staff are just not taking initiative to offer service. Coffee and tea not offered at breakfast unless requested. When arrive at poolside, bar, and restaurant, water and even menus are never provided unless requested.
- The times when we informed them that their food was poor, no service recovery, no apologies, no alternatives provided.
- When they see that we are not touching our food, no one bothers to ask if anything is wrong with the food.
- Basically service in these areas was non-existent.
On the whole, staff are poorly trained and do not take initiative and are unable to react to situations. Food quality is disgraceful. Much better food in town and even Nacpan Beach.
Given that we were staying there during the soft launch and there were very few guests, such lapses in service should not be happening.
Perhaps the manager, if there is one since we never met the person, should have a stronger presence amongst the guest and ensure the hotel better run.

We stayed at Casa Kalow on the Lio Estate, we had everything, a beautiful beach, sun bed for free, first come first served (only about 17 beds) you can hire mats and towels. I must admit i was bitten badly by sand flies, but they didn't touch my husband.
Gorgeous sunsets, two minutes from airport, you can watch them landing from the beach.
Plenty of restaurants, a few take credit cards, some only cash. Globy takes cards has its own wi fi and toilets.
A resident Dr on sight, who is very friendly.

This is my 2nd time to visit Palawan. But its my 1st to visit El Nido. Took a flight from Puerto Princesa which took us 6hrs land travel via van going to EL Nido. We were fetched at the airport and brought us straight to Lio. Lio has 4 hotels. But We stayed at Balai Adlao. A bed and breakfast hotel. But we were not informed that they dont have slippers and laundry bags which is part of the amenities supposedly in a hotel. But we understand since theyre eco friendly advocates. Overall its a good place to stay. Love the service. Simple food. So quiet. Love the beach. Next time ill stay at El Nido Cove. I would love to try all their hotels. Each hotels caters to different people. Like Hotel covo is for backpackers, Casa kalaw for family. Balai Adlao is the middle hotel i guess😊 El Nido Cove is the resort. rating? I will definitely go back to Lio!

I came to this beach expecting to be able to lay on a lounge like Naptan beach. But nothing like this was around. If it had that then I would have given 4 stars. Just overall felt disappointed compared to all other locations

El Nido Palawan is known for its natural beauty and has led many travellers to gush about its ethereal charm.
Lio gives you this while providing accomodations that are comfortable (way above backpacker standards) and food choices that would make you realize you are still in the Philippines (restaurant food range from Indian to burgers).
The mobile connection is great given that the conglomerate that developed the place owns one of the largest telcos in the country.
Don't forget to bring toothpaste though.
