We did the trip to balabac and it was amazing. The crew was really nice even if they don’t speak a lot of English we still manage to have some conversation with them.
You will travel to different island and will see some of the most beautiful island. With so many different Color, and coral life.

Balabac tour is an experience, you won’t have the confort of your home there. Bucket shower and little electricity but all that is part of the experience. Of course the sleeping part is kinda the same. (Tent or small mattress in a shake)

Don’t forget to take some money with you as many things are not included like snorkelling goggles or some food on the island you stop by (chips / Coca Cola / …)
And if your group agrees try to stay one night in Onuk Island you won’t regret it ;)

The crew will cook some amazing food on your trip ( Philippinos’s specialities particularly) but remember that this kind of food is different from what you could expect.

Small things the tour could do better are :

Some more activities on the island ( ex: volley / card game / … ) cause you will spend a lot of time waiting on the beach with nothing to do.
Add some chair on the beach to relax as you watch the sunset for exemple.

Try to have more communication with the customer for exemple we had to wait 30 minutes at night (3am) because the driver was late and even when sending message to him had no answer.

And last thing, be ready to experience the Philippine’s way of travel with many many stops on your way to balabac.

All this text to say that if you are ready for adventure balabac tour is for you.

So just dive in and enjoy your stay in the wild like you have never done.

My friend and I participated in the El Nido Fishing trip with local fishermen. It was a wonderful experience where we went out to sea in a small traditional fishing boat and fished with hand lines. Both of us caught a number of fish and was very satisfied with the experience. Afterwards, we visited a secluded beach to relax and enjoy a grilled lunch of our catch and other food items. Our guide, James, was friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely welcoming. We recommend this tour to anyone who is in the area and want a unique experience not found in the island hopping tours.

I booked a private 5D4N trip to Balabac island with Lagum adventure. Because of them, my husband and I had such a great and memorable experience!

Irene was pleasant to chat with and very patient as well. She answered all my questions/ inquiries before the trip and ensured everything ran smoothly during the expedition.

Bingo and Renz were the best tour guides! Both very warm, accommodating and funny. They made sure we were comfortable at the base camp we stayed in and regularly checked on us if we needed anything. During the tours they made sure of our safety while enjoying the islands and went the extra mile taking such beautiful drone videos! I’d like to mention our boatmen, Louie and Jimboy as well for the safe and comfortable journey on the boats!

I highly recommend Lagum Adventure and give them a 5 star rating! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The only good thing about the fishing trip was eating our catch. Our guide cooked lovely food.

However, it’s Not worth the money at all. An over priced experience portrayed by the website as something else completely.

Communication to where we would get picked up was poor internally. We ended up messaging 3 separate people about collection and still waited for 30 minutes for our guide to arrive. We had rented a bike and had told our booker we could get ourselves anywhere but had to get a tricycle from town.

Our guide barely spoke to us. He didn’t tell us anything about fishing, nor the local methods. He just did it. And expected us to copy. The website sells it as immersive and it didn’t feel that way. I felt left out as the fisher man spoke only to my boyfriend and not me. This made me feel uncomfortable.

Out of the activities we only fished. The guide said no to swimming and had no snorkelling gear. Nor did he supply water. This is all stated by the website.

Our tour guide asked us a lot of questions about money. Made us feel uncomfortable.

Best guide (Alex) you could ask for. Amazing day spent fishing. Next time we'll catch the big Lapu Lapu that got away. Cooking the caught fish for dinner was the cherry on top the cake

We had such a fantastic experience with James and his crew. Spending our day on two small traditional boats between the four of us, fishing (and actually catching some fish!) and stopping on a secluded beach for snorkelling/swimming and lunch. Food was great, bbq fish and chicken with rice and veggies. The entire trip was very private and peaceful; lovely day and great memories. Thank you 🙏😊

I did the Balabac Tour 2-5 December with Lagum and it was the very best thing I did in the Philippines!
The tour is very well organised, the campsite in Sicsican is amazing and much better that the other ones in other islands around: not crowded, with wonderful huts right by the beach, fresh coconut, decent toilets/bucket showers, and great people :)
The places we visited were breathtaking, with just our small group of less than 20pp and a few couples here and there. It really felt as if we had all the spots and the campsite for ourselves which is priceless!
Food was good considering how remote the place is but maybe having a bit more fruits would have been great ;)
A big shout out to our guide Renz who was fenomenal! He always made sure that everything was going smoothly and that everyone was happy. He even took fantastic drone shots during the trip for us. Thank you Renz and thank you Lagum!
I would go back to the Philippines just to do this tour again with you guys :)

One suggestion: it would be great to have the option to do a longer tour (5-6 days). As a solo traveller I can’t do a private tour but I would have loved to have the opportunity to stay longer

We went on the Lagum Adventures fishing tour where local fisherman took us fishing on a local fishing boat. They showed us how they do traditional line fishing and we were able to catch our very own fish! It was such a unique and amazing experience. They even took us for a private island to cook the fish we caught so we could eat them for lunch. It was the best fish we ever tasted. It was so fun to catch and eat our very own fish on such a beautiful island. The fishermen were so patient and helpful it was a wonderful tour.

Spent an unforgettable day fishing with James! From the moment we cast off, it was clear we were in good hands. The day was filled with plenty of action, and we caught some great fish. The real highlight, though, was the fresh catch turned into an amazing meal. James knows how to cook—especially when it comes to his chicken adobo! It was hands down one of the best versions we have ever had.

If you ever get the chance to fish with James, don't hesitate—great fishing, great company, and even better food. Highly recommend!

The trip is beautiful. There is so much to see. We went snorkeling many times and saw turtles, stingrays, lots of fish and even a shark! The food during the trip was also great.
The guides did not speak English well, leading to unclear planning and miscommunications. The planning was bad. They did not book a sleeping location on the second island on time, so that we spent 2 nights on the same beach and spent the 3rd day sailing for more than 8 hours. We were also asked to be ready at 6.30 in the morning on the last day, but the crew was not ready to leave until 8.00.
