If you know how and where to go, you'll be surprised how cheap the travel can be going to Puerto Galera, Mindoro! The bus from Buendia going to Batangas pier and back costs P300+ and the roro to hop to the island is P500+ only. There are lots of backpacking inns, I and my friend cost us P800/night with two huge beds and a toilet clean enough for us to take a shower and change our two-pieces at any time of the day after dipping in the beach! hahaha Though the beach sand is not as white as other Philippine beaches, it's clean and good enough to swim and spend the day reading a good book while sun bathing! Just what I exactly need! XD I love the Mangyan tribe! It was pure happiness when one of them climbed the huge Rambutan tree and handed us an armful of its sweet fruits. Straight from tree, just perfect! The waterfalls and its view were stunning! Though it is ideal to swim in the morning since the bottom of the artificial pool looks clearer before a huge crowd could stir the water. Their ensaladang talong and huge bbqs were so tasty! Mindoro sling is a must, the effect was I and Michelle swimming with nothing at midnight in the beach! Hilarious tipsy girls! hahaha The best part (I never want to miss this whenever I'm in a beach), is the massage-by-the-beach!!! With P250 you can get a massage therapist in an instant and they would look out for you (esp when your tipsy) for safety! hahaha They were like our moms that night. There was comfort and pure bliss in the smell of peppermint oil while basking in the melody of the serene waves. ^_^ Awesome adventure!

The falls are unimpressive, there are 2 other smaller falls higher up worth the climb as they are short distance. The hike was quite nice, good exercise. Go g
for the hike not the falls. One nice thing as local weaving artisans are set up and can get great prices on a variety of handmade pieces.

In the north of the island of Mindoro near Puerto Galera are several waterfalls. Slightly better than Aninuan waterfall is a waterfall Talipanan. It can be reached through the idyllic village and the stream that flows from the lake which is under a waterfall. It's better to use guide , which will cost you 150-200 pesos.

Under advertised, this place attracts few visitores and offers very nice intimacy. Good swim under the fall. The village at the bottom of the trail is worth a look, the work of a philantropic lady who strived to offer the local inhabitants a decent environment not disconnected from their way of life

I was travelling with 10 people, mostly young kids and underestimated the danger of this hike. The guides will tell you lies to get you to do this hike without telling you the danger/ difficulties because they charge 50 -100 pesos per person. But the truth is that if you are travelling with small children, old people, or someone with difficulty climbing/ heights- this is not worth it. They will also tell you that it will take 15 minutes but the truth is it takes 45 mins going up and through steep boulders and slippery rocks and ground, and 30 mins going back. The falls is a bit disappointing too. It's a very small falls and quite dirty. Not unless you are all healthy, full and good some apps on your phone for a possible rescue in case you get injured- don't do it. Stick to the beach.

Going here took us 1hr of walking. When we arrived, i am somehow disappointed. The falls is just small.. nothing special. You just got your feet tired. The way back is farther, the tour guide advised us that we will walk in different way than the first. It took us almost 1 1/2 hrs of walking. Aninuan falls is not worth it for the long walk. Never again.

Went up with a guide. It's slippery and I fell down a slope. Lucky only abrasions. The falls, once you reach them, are nice, but I wouldn't do it again.

Driver recommended the state sponsored village. We visited and enjoyed the visit. Nothing special but I did visit the falls. It is a short hike but not for one who is not healthy. Water was cold! The locals sell there wears, grass woven items. I brought six back, beer koozies. They work great!

30 minute hike, nice to walk in the outdoors, but arrived at the falls was disappointed ... I expected a better place, the falls are small and you can't do so much... We spent 700 pesos for the guide and 200 pesos for the tricycle!
you can spend money to visit better places!!!
