I visited here after Binurong Point. Not much walking to do here as it is accessible to vehicles. I came by trike. Great views of the coastline to the north and to the south toward Puraran beach. No entry fees and a must visit if your in the area.

Similar to what Batanes' rolling hills view can offer. Balacay point in Baras offers the same magnificent view, only this time it is the majestic waves of the Pacific ocean that you can see and on the other side a picture perfect view of the rolling hills, similar to Windows 7 wallpaper. No, I am not kidding here, kindly take a look at my posted picture below. Balacay Point has become one of the "hottest" places to visit in Catanduanes which is just an-hour-and-a-half drive away from Virac.
Reaching the top of the hills has become easier nowadays too, thanks to the Provincial Government for spearheading the concreting of paved road to this area. Today, motorbikes, 4-wheels and even bicycles can easily reach the peak, making this place a favorite hang out site for local bikers. If you prefer to trek, it will take you 10-15 minutes to reach the top and start enjoying the vastness of the mighty Pacific Ocean and breathe in its cool, fresh and salty air.

Surely a place for sunset lovers..
If luck is on your side (if the clouds are not thick) the sunset from this point is just majestic. Plus it provides a good view of Puraran Beach.

July 31, 2016. Balacay point is an elevated green pasture overlooking the Pacific Ocean. It's not as vast as Binurong point but the sight was spectacular. It reminded me of a movie scene from the Sound of Music. It reminded me too of postcards from abroad where you see a church portruding from a small village below the cliff, surrounded by lush green mountains and the blue sea - priceless beauty!
Binurong Point is a private property near Puraran beach & very accessible to transportation. No entrance fees collected from the gate. A lone unbarricaded paved road between the mountain and deep ravine led us to the top view. The rolling mountain opened to the magnificent Pacific Ocean. It was the warm sun, cool sea breeze, lush green mountains, blue cloudless sky and the raging waves below that made my day. Perfect for sunrises & hot brewed coffees!

Balacay Point is another optional site to visit other than Binurong Point where people need not hike anymore to see the beautiful shoreline of Catanduanes Island.

Amazing view! Absolutely breathtaking! A must visit when in Catanduanes. Only about 40 minutes from Virac. No need to hike because you can park your vehicle right there.

A relatively new attraction in the island of Catanduanes is Balacay Point -- an elevated hill topping the town of Baras, which is a long drive from the capital town of Virac.

Balacay Point's views is comparable to the rolling hills of Batanes, only with the Pacific Ocean at the horizon stretching to infinity! At this vantage point, we also saw the famous “majestic” waves of Puraran Beach.

What's best is that it has a newly constructed road in order to promote more visitors, but is still relatively unvisited. We were literally the only ones savoring the fresh breeze, the green hills and the deep blue hues of the ocean.

A must-try when in Catanduanes.
