Get a guide who can explain some of the relief work. Bring an umbrella for shade and wear sunscreen.

We hired a tandom bike and cycled over to this temple, a great fun way to get around. Nobody else was there so had the place to ourselves!

Sewu temple is not far away from Perambanan temple. One can take a free tramp ride. Though it is a small temple, it's okay to visit it as it may only take about 30 minutes to walk around and snap some pictures.

Very good place to know and explore the many candis surrounding Yogyakarta. Advice: visit at least Candi Ratu Boko, Candi Prambanan, and Candi Sewu.

Rich culture and educational trip. Great for family with children. Strollers and infant not recommended because lots of stairs to climb.

Big shopping malls offer major brands, but it is not too much cheaper than Europe. Durian season starts in November.
