If this is your first time in china, then perhaps this place would be of great interest. If not, then it’s just another Nanjing thing to do if you have nothing else planned.

We went to Laomen East Pedestrian Street to find a burger place that we found online and when we arrived found that the area is great. It is filled with shops, cafes, restaurants, art and artists, scenic beauty, historic buildings, and is huge. Laomen will...More

One of Nanjing's more recent attractions, Laomendong looks like an old city quarter, but actually it is all new. It is old only by name. The eastern section is already teeming with shops and restaurants, whereas the western section (the section close to Zhonghua Men)...More

I prefer this area over Fuzimiao. Apart from been less crowded, there is more variety in terms of food and they generally tasted better than what I had eaten at Fuzimiao. There is a food street which houses the popular traditional Nanjing eateries. In addition,...More

Laomendong is a new built place. The buildings look old but they are new (fake old buildings). It's greatly decorated with fountains and statues. You can find there many Chinese restaurants and Starbucks also. It's much better at night because the lights give Laomendong a...More

It is way better than Fuziamiao( I don't know if I spelled it right). It is less crowded and more authentic. My Chinese friend suggested this place and it was satisfying. There are cool shops that sell special hand made items and some cafes. Also...More

We have been to Xian tondi before and if you have never been, please do not let me discourage you as it is beautiful typical over restored Chinese place. Clean and nice. Laomendong, in contrast, is also cleaned up a bit, but you still have...More
