Interesting place and lots of history. A climb of many steps to get up to the Giant Buddha but worth the effort. There are many landings up the steps to take your time. Oxen roam around the grounds - seem very tame.

Fabulous in scale, you see it from some distance away when arriving on the cable car. Take the 280 steps and feast on the view. Say your prayers while you’re there to the six smaller statues at it’s feet.

I visited the Buddha on my last day of a two week business trip to HK. Several local colleagues had told me to get there early and I’m so glad I listened to them. I pre booked the cable car for 9.15am and was one...More

The big Budda and accompanying temples are as good as you will see anywhere in China. It is located next to Nyong Ping 360 which is just a tourist street of shops and eats that you should pass by as quickly as you can.

Great place to visit generally. A little commercial though and Coke in particular seems to have made a big investment.

It is a little bit a touristy place but fun to visit. Suggest you purchase your tickets in advance on line. So you can avoid the long queue to purchase a ticket. There might still be a queue to get on the gondolas.

Took the cable car to the big buddha which was great. The little village is very tourist focussed, but I quite liked that, it still looked nice. A must on the tourist trail.

You don't really have to go up the steps if you don't want to but it would be worth your while trying to as the view up there is just incredible and beautiful. If you cannot manage the stairs, there's ample area on the... More

Hi, yes there should be more than enough time if you are staying close to the airport. Take a taxi up to the Buddha, this will save you a lot of time with the line-ups at the cable cars which are usually 1-2.5 hours. Once... More
