It’s quite a long journey to get there and the cable car is another 30 minutes. Be sure to go early as they close the gates around 5:30 and after that you can’t climb up to see the statue. We were unlucky and went on...More

To get great water and mountain views, we took the 25-minute, 5.7 kilometre Ngong Ping 360 cable car ride to Lantau Island, the home of the Big Buddha. Before boarding, we had about a 35-minute wait in line, to board. On exiting, we first visited...More

We loved it here. Was a lovely day out. The cable car to the top. Then the walk up to the Bhuda. Plenty of food and ice cream shops even the odd street food stall. It’s worth taking the bus to the fishing village and...More

We decided to head out to the big Buddha from our Hotel in Kowloon. Our advice is to take the train out. The train terminates right near the cable cars and next to the outlet shopping centre. So you can do the two things in...More

Took the MTR to the Tung Chun station and caught the Ngong Ping 360 gondola to get here. You can see the Buddha from the gondola. There are quite a few stairs to walk up to get to the Buddha so be prepared for it....More

We visited the Big Buddha on his birthday - a holiday in HK. We took a tour by Grey line that included the cable car - which was fantastic (we did the crystal bottom so we could see below), the Big Buddha, Po Lin Monastery...More

It's just awesome and awe inspiring, but pick a sunny day with little to no cloud cover. If its cloudy you won't see much and it will just be a wet and foggy affair. The crystal cable car is also the way to go if...More

This is the 4th or 5th time I have visited and every time I am amazed by the grace of the place. We took the crystal cabin up and the bus down and enjoyed the different scenery the two offered. The cable car up is...More

This is a must if you are in Hong Kong. We caught the MTR to Tung Chun station and then it is well signposted to the cable car which will take you to the the temple and buddha. We pre-purchased our tickets online which will...More

Sorry, I'm not sure of the exact price but I believe it is reasonable. In case it is of interest, the cable car ride back down is spectacular and the walk (which I did) underneath the cable car, is strenuous but amazing.
