Star House is a commercial property just across from the famous Star Ferry Pier in TST. The property name is taken from the Star Ferry. This is one of the 1960's era buildings that has really shown its age compared to the larger, newer and more modern properties and shopping venues that have popped up in the district over the past couple of decades.

Here you will find some high traffic Chinese restaurants like Jade Garden and Peking Garden restaurant which has long been a popular dining venue for locals and tourists alike. There is a McDonald's, 711 and low-rent shops including currency exchange and the likes.

In short, Star House is now simply a link to the late 20th century past for TST. It is surplus to requirements commercial space and a less than ideal use of prime real estate in an area of the city that is undergoing quite a bit of redevelopment and remodelling (see K11 Musea, TST Promenade and Ave of Stars, HKMOA and future remodelled Space Museum). Probably time to add the Star House to the list of places that needs to be modernised and redeveloped for the future as well.

This Mall has deteriorated over the years - now on the upper floors a warren of passages and small shops mostly junk status - there is a good camera shop at street level and several fast food restaurants in the lower reaches - a plus is the Old Clock Tower in the square opposite - built in 1915 as part of the now long gone Kowloon Railway Terminus it is a Declared Monument and worthy of a couple of pics.

Not quite the place I remember from my days in Hong Kong, when there used to be a great selection of computer/electronic stores in the basement. In fact I bought my first digital camera here some 20 years ago. Today things have moved on, many of the small stores have changed. It seems to be aimed more at the tourist coming in off the cruise liners selling cheap and cheerful stuff and souvenirs etc. In many ways the atmosphere has also gone and there are better places to shop in Hong Kong.

Not Star City anymore. It's reverted to Star House, the building's name. The computer stores that made up star city are now all gone. Eslite Spectrum has taken their places.

Spectrum is a large lifestyle store comprising cafes, bookstores, gadget stalls and all things interesting for browsing.

Star City is a small mall right near the ferry landing in Kowloon, Tsim Sha Tsui. We came over from Central on the Star Ferry and were thirsty and saw a Starbucks inside and it gave us the energy to carry on. We also saw some cafeteria style restaurants that were jam packed. One place in particular was extremely busy and we had wished we were hungry but didn’t have room. There are some souvenir shops and Watsons etc… but not that many shops. There was a lot of wasted space and it could be used more to its potential. Still a great stop after the ferry. Oh and clean restrooms!

It's in an excellent location, right in the middle of tourist alley. But the building is not used to its potential.

A range of small shops and tailors and arty shop souvenir types. Then the restaurants at the upper levels. And that's it.

I wish they would tear this down and build a grade A tourist friendly entertainment centre.

Star City is not a city, but a commercial building with shops and restaurants on the lower floors and offices on the upper floors. It is adjacent to the Harbour City, but smaller. However, you can find different eating places, big and small, providing from Big Mac to coffee, Chinese and western cuisane. There are shops selling Chinese arts and crafts as well as computer goods and other varieties.

The Star House is ideally located next to Star Ferry Terminal and Ocean Terminal, where most of the cruise ships dock, when in Hong Kong. There are many shops and restaurants in Star House and is very easily accessible from all over Hong Kong.

This listing is for the Star House building at 3 Salisbury Rd. There is no place called Star City. You can find Star House just next to the entrance to the Harbour City Shopping Mall and across from the Star Ferry Pier for journeys across Victoria Harbour.

There is a fair amount of things to do/see in this area that are of interest to tourists. These include the mentioned Star Ferry, seeing the Clock Tower, Flying Frenchman sculpture and walking along the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade.

For shopping, you are right next to the Harbour City Shopping Mall and the upscale 1881 Heritage on the opposite side of Star House. As for this property itself, this is a dated building with some lower tier service providers, tailors, Forrex and the likes. The primary interest for tourist visits is the upstairs Peking Garden restaurant.

This restaurant, a surprising Michelin 1 star recipient, is actually a great place for tourists. There are views of Victoria Harbour and they make good Peking Duck and an excellent Beggar's Chicken. It is advisable to inform that you intend to make one or both of these orders when you call for dinner reservations if interested in eating at Peking Garden here at Star House.

On the ground floor you will also find the 711, Starbucks and a McDonald's Create Your Taste branch as well and a few other random shops.

Note: the area is also crawling with tailor and fake watch and bag touts. Just ignore them if you don't want to be bothered.
