Exhibition of Hong Kong History is free, the other special exhibition is charging. It is for free, but every single area is so exquisite and the display really puts lots of effort. From ancient to colony to now. Especially, the traditional festival...More

Great place to visit to get a general feel for the great history of Hong Kong. Spent 3 hours looking at all the displays- good place to be on rainy days. Staff very efficient, helpful if approached.

The section on the history of Hong Kong is really great. Fun with good visual displays. However, you have to walk through a pretty long, not well done section on the geology of Hong Kong. And I'm a scientist. It is FREE and worth the...More

I spent a half day in this wonderful museum of history that surrounds you with the facts and feeling of HK’s past. Although already an avid history buff, I never stopped learning about what happened (events), snippets of how it might have felt (the recreations...More

Tsim Sha Tsui is one of the major tourist and shopping
areas of Hong Kong. With a high concentration of
hotels, retail shops and commercial offices – it’s a
busy and bustling neighborhood that never sleeps. On
the surface, Tsim Sha Tsui seems to only feature an
abundant number of high-end retail stores selling
designer brands and jewelry, owing to its popularity
with high-budget shopping tours. However, it also

We stayed in Kowloon at the Hotel Icon, probably the best hotel I have ever stayed in. If you stay in Kowloon near the Harbour or a Metro stop its pretty convenient for everywhere.

The museum have guided tours during the day that are free. We did one and it was very informative and better than reading the captions on the displays. You can get the details from their website.

It's confusing a lot of people. The renovation is still at the planning stage. The museum is business as usual. It still closes Tuesdays though.
