I entered the area via Tienanmen Square. There may be another way, but either way, at weekends, expect a lot of people, and in particular groups.

This was one of the gates we visited while crossing Tian'anmen Square. It is a vast area and a lot of walking is involved. The gate is impressive and was well patronised.

Beginning to look a bit shabby in places but hard to keep your mouth from flopping open when confronted with so much beauty.

This is a very pictureques site with tons of history. Such an honor to be at Tian'namen Square where many lost their lives in protest for a better life.

It was such an incredible place to walk. Knowing the history that took place there - walking across the square, it was really incredible.

Walking around without a guide was boring as, alot of locals touching dragons heads for good luck, also the polished stone that leads up to the temple is the road of dead so i think, so i presume that may bring bad luck.
