Located at the North end of Tiananmen Square with a huge portrait of Chairman Mao, this gate is the entrance to the Forbidden City. Despite the huge crowd, it was relatively smooth to pass through the Gate of Heavenly Peace.

Trip of a lifetime planned and executed by Odyssey Tours. This company has top of the industry guides, drivers, hotels, sites, local flavor and itinerary planning. Will continue to use their expertise if I am traveling in an area they service.

It is very crowded but an unforgettable place to visit. Check out the history behind it before you go. Stay away from vendors and picture takers. Bring your own water.

All packed closely together around Tiananmen Square, if you plan it right, all together, the attractions nearby can be combined to make an interesting morning or afternoon trip
