We went to Wangfujing Street and I tried to go inside again and was unsuccessful. I’ve never been lucky enough to be able to go in. Maybe you can’t go in anymore? In any case, it’s still a beautiful church and somewhat difficult to see...More

St. Joseph's Cathedral (East/Main Street India Church) is actually big surprise in Beijing. You see Catholic Church in the middle of Beijing.

We were absolutely surprised to find this Catholic Church totally intact and still giving mass in the middle of Beijing. Despite all that has happened over the last 100 years it is still there with it's doors open for people to enter.

Walking along Wangfujing St toward the northern end of the shopping precinct is the Cathedral. It was standing room only down the back when we came in on a Sunday afternoon, a very broad mix of people for the service that was running. The original...More

Looks to be the most common of churches however, the atmosphere inside the church is so conducive to contemplation and prayer that it becomes so captivating you have a hard time leaving. Attended the 6:30 mass in Chinese but they have service in English once...More

The church was closed when we went there. But I felt sooo happy and satisfied to see a Catholic church in a country where Buddhism is their main religion. All my Beijing good experiences were really worth keeping.

I attended 4pm English mass last Sunday and I sat close by the small choir. Their voices are just so amazing and it's such a great joy to be there. It was my first time attending a mass in China and all parts were smooth....More

This is a gorgeous Church with amazing architecture, but the greatest part was the warm and friendly welcome we received when we stopped by. While we were just visiting to see the Church, they were holding Holy Mass (in English), and so we stopped by...More
