Arrived at 12:45, took until just before 3 to catch the cable car up as massive que. On the wall is always great, toboggan down is a must , but slow people tend to make it a bit boring.

Fabulous to get to the Great Wall. It was very misty when we first went up, but it cleared significantly if not completely. The bonus was the dumplings in the restaurant just off the wall!.

Very nice walk between 10 of the towers. Access is up a rather steep hill so be prepared to climb, even if taking the cable car.

It was miserably hot, humid and blindingly sunny. I wish I could go back. Take the toboggan. Live a little.

Try and go early or it will get too hot. Bring loads of water. Haggle down ANYTHING you want to buy there, the salespeople will try and take advantage of tourists. It's extremely beautiful. I'd recommend the cablecar up and down. A few hours is...More
