Qianmen Street has been recently rebuilt/restored and is very pleasant when walking from the south. However, the real attraction was the older streets on the west side which have lots of restaurants and stores with a huge amount of activity. Well worth a wander around.

It is a main pedestrian street with little streets with loads of cheap chinese shops just off it. Nice vibe. The little streets around it are like a market.

Most of businesses there are open until 8:00 pm. Just few of them longer, until 9:0 pm.
