Zamalek is on one side of the Nile river. There are many restaurants (on stationary boats) on the Zamalek side of the river bank. Each level of the boat serves different types of food, so you have to decide which you want to eat at....More

I really enjoyed walking around Zamalek. It's very peaceful, quiet and scenic and away from the hustle and bustle of downtown.

Zamalek is very lively and colorful island surrounded by the Nile river. Lot of embassies are settled down there, many interesting trees, the place is full of art galleries, craft shops etc. It is a favorite place for foreigners, there are few nice pubs ;)
