Cairo Museum has A LOT ancient artefacts from Pharaonic Egypt! Not pretty a lot of them don't have tugs in English :( And the museum's cashier lies me :(

Can't say enough about this place. It probably has more monuments than all other countries combined. Need to visit again as it was not enough.

We visited the museum in January 2021. Its genuinely huge, and I can see it getting Very Very crowded when COVID isn't going on. I feel like we saw most of it. The highlight is the King Tut exhibit. There is a no-camera/no-pone section that contains Tut's mask, I would run to this first (2nd floor, middle-back of the museum). Only 10 people are permitted in at a time, so get there early. Our plan was to see the royal mummies next, but it was closed, as they seem to be moving the royal mummies to a new museum. I won't go into everything in the museum, but I did enjoy the animal room, mummified fish the size of a bean bag chair.... crocodiles, baboons, it was pretty amazing. We spent 4ish hours there overall, at the end of our 2 week Egypt trip. Like other parts of Egypt, there are touts outside who want to help you with everything, and get money from you too. I find this annoying, and I find their persistence to be even more annoying, but this is not the fault of the museum.
