Thank you, Memphis Tours, for the wonderful experiences we had in Egypt !
It is amazing how Memphis Tours managed to deliver exceptional values to their guests at such low prices, as compared to other tour operators in Egypt. For a price equivalent to the ones for large groups, Memphis Tours truly delivered private, small group tour experience. Our family of 3 was assigned to one representative, one tour guide, one driver and one car in each city we visited. We could spend a lot more time visiting and exploring archaeological monuments at our own pace. All the sites in the cities listed in our tour - Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, and Abu Simbel - are truly jewels of Egypt and of the world.
Although all members of Memphis Tours we met were professional, the team we had in Cairo was exceptional. Upon arrival at Cairo airport, Mohamed Mohsen met us near the gate, helped us with getting visas, filling out forms, and pointing to us which ATM we could use. With his assistance, we had a really good start. Later he managed to get us a room with good view and brought us to the airport after our extension.
Lunch in Luxor, Aswan, and Abu Simbel were very delicious, better than the lunch we had in Cairo. On the other hand, hotels in Cairo were more friendly, let guests use their larger, cleaner gym, sauna, and steam room for free. Hotels in Luxor and Aswan were more stingy, asking extra charges for using their spa. Steigenberger Luxor Hotel was even worse, only let one person in our triple room having wifi access. They probably never ask themselves how much wifi usage would cost them and how much disapproval they get with their policy. We also appreciated the fact that Memphis Tours let us know the exact name of hotels before signing the contract, while another tour operator refused to do it.

Egypt has always been on my bucket list. So I decided it was the right time and worked 2 jobs to save up enough money to make this trip reality. As I started this journey I emailed a lot of tour companies to see what they had to offer and pricing. I did a lot of research ahead of time and knew what I wanted to see and what I did not, so the tour would be tailor made to what I wanted. All of them were pretty much the same price and developed an itinerary that I wanted. The reason I choose Memphis tours was because of their reviews on line. They were very quick to get back to me via email with any changes or tweaks I wanted to make. The only downside was during this time they stressed making a payment to guarantee a spot, but I was still in the developing phase and talking to other companies. Finally I told them I would make a payment when the itinerary was complete. He finally backed off and did not ask again. He continually kept in contact with me since it was months before my trip was planned which was great. Once I got to Cairo, meeting the Memphis tour guide and manager were easy and getting visa was quick. He explained the meeting times for the next couple of days, etc etc. The guide in Cairo, Luxor, Aswan and the Nile cruise were all great. The reason I gave 4/5 was because of my experience in Abu Simbel. When I arrived in Abu Simbel, the tour manager pointed to a car on the side of the road and told me to get in and the driver would take me to Abu Simbel to meet the guide. I met the guide at the site and he took me around, when the tour was over he put me in a taxi and told me the driver would take me back to airport. No one was at the airport to make sure I got back ok or to check in on me. As it turned out there was a sand storm with closed the airport and roads. Slowly guides from other companies were letting their group know what was going on and getting them into cars or buses to see if they could be taken back by roads or to local hotels. No one from Memphis tours contacted me or was anywhere to be found. As the last group of tourists were being taken out of the airport I asked their guide to contact Memphis tours, since no one responded to my texts or emails or calls. The manager of the airport was the one who contacted my tour manager and guide in Abu Simbel to let them know that I was still at the airport and no one had come to get me. When the Memphis tour rep showed up me ask me why I did not get on the bus or get into a taxi, which made me furious since I did not know what was going on, nor did anyone from Memphis tours come to the airport and lastly why would I get into a bus or car at random. He acted like it was my fault and I could tell he was a bit angry. Other than that the sites were amazing and everything else on the trip was superb.

Four of us did the 12 Day Egypt and Jordan trip in early January and it was unforgettable. We were met at Cairo Airport, inside the customs area, by our tour coordinator Kamal and on our hour and a half trip to the hotel in Giza, he went over the itinerary, tips for getting by as a tourist in Egypt and a myriad of other things that came to mind. Our guide for our day in Cairo was Hoda and she was the first of a series of exceptional guides. We did the Giza complex, St George’s Church and the synagogue in Old Cairo and the Egyptian Museum, skipping the trip to the bazaar. She included two shopping locations , a papyrus manufacturer and a jewelry store but they were informative as well, so we didn’t feel pressured into buying.

The next morning (VERY early) we left for Luxor and the Nile cruise. Our coordinator met us at the airport and took us to the boat, where we met Ashraf, who would be our guide and companion for 4 days up the river. He was superlative, making sure we got to places early ( ahead of the crowd) and his commentary was highly informative. We did the usual places on the Nile but he went out of his way to personalize the trip, including getting us some phenomenal falafel near the Valley of the Kings and taking us to a friend’s house in the Nubian Village in Aswan for an unforgettable hour visit. As in Cairo, some shopping destinations were also included but there was similarly no pressure to buy.

My one complaint would be our return to Cairo and the departure to Amman the next day. We had to be out of our cabins at 8:30 but our flight to Cairo wasn’t until 2:30 (and it was delayed) and we were again subjected to the trek across Cairo to the hotel in Giza and then back again the next morning to fly to Amman. I think they should just keep you out by the airport for that type of connection. To his credit, Kamal, who again met us at the airport, agreed and did not try to sugarcoat or make excuses.

For two of us, this was a return to Egypt after over 20 years; some things (the sights, Cairo traffic and the chaos of Egypt) had not really changed but this was a very informative and interesting trip and we felt we really learned so much more than we expected.

Memphis Tours was attentive and focused on us. We were scheduled to continue to Jordan the day the Iranians threw missiles at Iraq and shot down the aircraft. We contacted them, expressing our concerns about our safety in Jordan. They got back to us immediately, told us they were in contact with folks in Jordan, assured us that the Jordanians had very high security at their tourist locations and generally assuaged us.

We found Jordan calm, friendly and safe. We visited Jerash, Ajdun Castle, the Dead Sea, Mt Nebo and Petra. Unlike Egypt, we got local guides at the sites but they were excellent as well. Our driver, Abed, was safe, prompt and did a wonderful job, especially the last day when we went to/from Petra and then had to be at the airport before midnight for our departure home. A very long day but he remained cheerful and helpful to the last.

All in all, I would absolutely recommend Memphis Tours to anyone going to Egypt.

My partner and I cannot recommend this trip enough. We had 2 drivers Osama and Muhammed, who were friendly, informative and funny! We booked a private trip, which is not as expensive as you would think, and we were able to travel comfortably in a small minibus. This is the first time we had been to Egypt, so the security checks seemed quite daunting, but our guides made sure we felt comfortable. Seeing the Valley of the Kings, Luxor Temple, some of the historic industrial towns and the Hatshepsut Temple were incredible, and there are a few other surprises along the journey that will take your breath away (I won’t spoil them here!) But the icing on the cake was our guide Shaimaa Baheeg who was passionate and knowledgeable about Luxor, and it just made the day even better. She can answer all the questions you have, her storytelling is unmatched, and she is incredibly funny. Do not hesitate to book through Memphis tours, we only hope we get to go back again in the future.

We are so glad that we booked our holiday with Memphis Tours. Samaa Nasr was our main guide and managed our tour and her care and expertise were perfect! Samaa put a huge effort into making our holiday in Egypt a never to be forgotten experience. Every thing that we asked for was perfectly arranged and we didn’t have to worry about a thing. We also want to mention our driver in Cairo and Giza, Ahmed Moharram, who is not only an excellent driver, but also a very thoughtful and considerate person who is great fun as well. Ahmed was extremely reliable and efficient and made our time in Giza and Cairo absolutely stress free. Our guide in Giza, Sherouk (spelling?) Mohmmad was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and showed great care in checking in with my wife that we were well. The cruise that Memphis Tours booked us on was fantastic and we’ll do a separate review for the Movenpick Royal Lotus. We will note here that our Memphis Tours guide for that section of our holiday, Eid Mohamed Moawed, was the very best. Eid is an Egyptologist of great knowledge and experience and he really made our site excursions so exciting and interesting.

Some of the amazing things Samaa organised for us, which were off the usual tourist route, included:

* Al Tannoura performance. So good we visited twice
* Dinner boat on the Nile
* Cooking class
* Street food tour

Plus so much more.

We found Memphis Tours to be extremely efficient and responsive right from our initial enquiry. We believe that we got very good value for money and we would definitely use them again and are very happy to recommend to our family and friends.

We had a wonderful time with Memphis tours on our 2 days excursion from
Safaga port. The tour guide Mohmed was exterior knowledgeable about the history of Egypt, he was very friendly and has a great sense of humor. His arrangement was excellent even in switching the itinerary from the original schedule in order to avoid crowds from the tour ships. We visited all the places as promised plus an extra river Nile cruise that we didn’t expect. The driver Osama was also a fun guy to be with, the two of them made a perfect pair and they both made the trip most enjoyable.
The hotel we stayed was an excellent Hoover with the view of the Nile, the hotel was rated 5 stars, the food they included for our 2 lunches from this hotel was delicious, service was great and we thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it. This hotel Sonesta St. George also provides excellent breakfast. I therefore will not hesitate to recommend anyone who is interested to have a good time in Egypt to choose Memphis tours as their tour provider.

I would highly reccomend booking your Egyptian tour with Memphis Tours. My mother and I did a Private 10 day Luxury Cairo and Nile Cruise and had a great experience from start to finish. Memphis tours met us upon arrival and helped arrange our visa's. We had the same driver for the duration of our Cairo tours and he was fantastic. Cairo traffic is no joke and we always felt safe and secure with him. Our tour guide in Cairo, Amr Ahmed, was great too. He was very knowledgeable and ensured we got some great pictures. Day 1 did start a bit rocky though as we were a bit rushed at the Pyramids. We had inicated prior to the trip that we wanted to ride Camels and that our tour guide could arrange. While he did arrange, it was a bit forced and I ended up having to ride a Camel that was well past his prime. This left me feeling guilty and kind of ruined the morning. Not only that but we did not get to see the Great Sphinx up close or tour the Valley Temple. The lookout point was also not the iconic view point of all the Pyramids together. We were then rushed off to a Papyrus Museum and Gift Shop that we would have prefered to have skipped. We could have spent that time seeing the the items on our itinerary that had been omitted. The rest of the afternoon went great and I learned a valuable lesson. Speak up if there is something you want to do. Day 2 went much better as I did speak up and ensure that we were able to see everything that was on the itinerary. We also had plans for a day trip to Alexandria on one of the days but the road was closed due to fog. After two hours of being stuck on the closed road, we made the decision to stay in Cairo. Amr did a great job of coming up with a new itinerary on the spot.

We also did the Nile Cruise from Luxor to Aswan with Abu Simbel trip. The cruise was great and we had another great tour guide Ashraf. He was really funny and knowledgable about all the sites. This portion of the tour was small groups and we really enjoyed the group of 8 we were with. The cruise was relaxing even though it also called for a lot of early mornings. Overall, we had a really great experience with Memphis Tours and would highly reccomend them.

Cairo Egypt,
Nasr Mahr and Memo were awesome, Nasr was always on point, very helpful and damn good at what he does, it was fantastic having him around to help when it came to things like bartering and buying, told me all about Egypt and what we were doing, took priority the minute I got there, I learned a lot from him.
Memo was an amazing Egyptologist. He was knowledgeable, always open to answer questions, and very helpful when trying to figure things out. He would walk with me, make sure I wasn't questioning things too much l, and was always open to tell me what I did not understand, they made the trip fun!
Cairo is a wonderfully historical city, the architecture is all top notch, and the feeling of brightness in the city of the sun is sometimes almost blinding. You can still feel the Kings looking upon you when standing at the base of the Giza Pyramids, and the best thing to see was the sunset on the Sphinx, it was a magical moment.
Aswan Egypt,
was an incredibly cultured city, we stayed in a hotel that you could only access by getting across the nile and our tour guide was top notch about our saftey and getting us there and out.
Our Egyptologist in Aswan was Mohammad Aswany, another amazing and highly educated tour guide, very talkative, very open to questions and recommendations, made the trip and the learning very fun!
The feeling of being in the temples made you feel like you were right there in the past, the energy of the Temples, like the Philae Temple, or Abu Simbel Temples will overtake you in an instant.
Luxor Egypt, the most spiritual city in Egypt I was at, the feeling of being there, the environment that is around you, the temple's energies will resonate around you the minute you enter that city. The Karnak Temple is the epicenter of all that makes that city Spiritual, the feeling of the city comes straight from that temple. If I lived in Egypt, Luxor would be my home!
Our Egyptologists name was Shaimaa Baheeg, Habibti, I miss you already 😋. Shaimaa was colorful, fun, knowledgeable, on top of everything, and just wonderful to be around. Her suggestions were always top notch, she was always open for any questions you had, was very attentive to small details that help you, just all around great!
I highly recommend Memphis Tours in Egypt, They were on top of the pandemic rules, kept everyone safe, and made the trip awesome! Highly Recommend! Make sure going to Egypt, you have TP in your backpack 😅🤣

We made a last minute decision to visit Egypt and were lost on where to start (or end). Memphis tours presented an end to end service, offering us peace of mind and they delivered. Right from the moment we landed to our last day, our tour manager (Abdul) was there all the way (not physically outside Cairo, but he would coordinate everything). We had additional tour managers in every location/city of our trip (Ali, Mahmoud). They not only perfectly coordinated flights, hotels, transfers and provided us with cultural context but were also friendly and hospitable. Our tour guides (Ahmed Prince, Karim) were knowledgeable and helped us appreciate the history and significance behind each of the monuments we visited. Memphis was also accommodating of itinerary changes in the last minute (e.g. we wanted to skip Alexandria and spend the day in Cairo) which we very much appreciated. In short, if you want a white glove, professional and hospitable tour, Memphis delivers just that experience.

After spending much time researching tour companies for our upcoming trip to Egypt, it was clear Memphis Tours was the winner. I had so many questions in advance traveling from the US to Egypt and Yasmeen couldn't have been more patient and knowledgeable to answer all of my questions and reassure me this would be the best trip EVER! She provided responses (at all hours of the day and night!) and very promptly - the service was amazing! She was able to book and secure everything we wanted to do from changing transportation from land to air, upgrading our accomodations and adding excursions to other tourist sites which were not standard on the tour I selected - I am so impressed with her high level of customer service.

Unfortunately due to COVID 19, we had to cancel our trip, but look forward to rebooking everything with Yasmeen and Memphis Tours later this year (hopefully). And a HUGE thank you to all of the work that you did on our behalf to cancel and obtain refunds , not future credits - we very much appreciate it!!
