The mother of democracy, Mother of Myanmar People, The Savior of Myanmar, The Lady who sacrificed her family and life for her beloved country. This is the place she lived early years.

The place is not open for visits as it's not a museum. You can only view the house from the gates. Good to see if you know the story of the lady, for the sake of 'been there, done that'. Still good to drive by if it's along your way. Unless you're beating the Yangon traffic to get somewhere else more important.

This spot used to be heavily surveiled, or guarded, or even kept off limits to rubberneckers. Now you can selfie there all you want, but there is nothing to see.

After seeing the house so many times in the news, it was surreal to see it in real life.
You can't go in. Our driver drove past it and i quickly snapped a pix. It's along a really busy road.

Nothing interesting - it was nothing but fences and exterior of a heavily guarded house. Would have been nice if able to take a look inside.

Knowing of the importance, history and fame of Aung San Suu Kyi i was looking forward to see the place where she was held for so many years.
Very big disappointment: we saw nothing but a closed gate, that's it. Pure loss of time.

This had been built up by our tour guide as a must do, so off we set in 34c on a busy dusty road, only to see a big gate😢
Oh well, at least we saw where history was made, or near it anyway!

Having been told that we would be able to see Aung San Suu Kyi's house from the roadside, all we actually saw was a very high fence, a steel gate and a security guard.
Don't waste your time.

The park is lovely but all you see is the gate as illustrated in this picture, and she no longer lives there.

According to other reviewers 54 University Road but I doubt that. I'd write to 'The National League For Democracy' or the Myanmar Parliament.
Bear in mind she would receive hundreds of letters a week , the vast majority answered by staff.
Hope this helps

If you are in the area of USA Embassy and drive to town you cannot miss it. There are many good hotels like Sedona which is close the venue and the city.
You can hire a car for the day is best way. Let them show you around is best way.
