Asuncion is pretty down at the heels, and little of significance is offered. This spot where the early ruling family resided is worth about thirty minutes, but, with the secured entrance, it is a nice escape from the street folks on the sidewalks.

Small, historical, free. It's where Paraguay declared their independence from Spain in 1812 (i think).

Nice little house displayed the declaration of independence of Paraguay, and history of it. You will learn a lot in this little casa. It's right in the heart of the old town near the tourist information center. Free admissions.

This museum has beautiful pieces of furniture and other items with historical meaning. Could do with some of the explanations being in English but otherwise very interesting. It also free to enter!
