- elenars900London, United Kingdom38 contributionsGreat experienceThis is such an interesting place to visit! Knowledgeable staff will guide you through the different rooms where birds are hosted and explain how the hospital operates and show some routine treatment the birds are offered ahead of the hunting season. Fascinating to get a glimpse of the important role of falconry in Emirates society. Grear activity for kids and adults alike.Visited January 2023Traveled with familyWritten January 6, 2023
- daratsosBonn, Germany34 contributionsUnique alternative sophisticated experienceUnique alternative and sophisticated experience with real falcons in a real animal hospital. You get a tour of two hours and get to know many interesting facts about the falcons and see a small medical procedure under total anesthesia. Book directly at the website of the hospital for reasonable prices and get there by taxi.Visited January 2023Traveled with familyWritten January 29, 2023

Glad I took this tour. It was interesting. You get to see the birds up close. Hassan was a great tour guide. I did have to wait a bit for a cab ride back to the hotel. It's kind of out of town. Nice cafe. Small gift shop. Worth a visit.

Please close this place. They are the ones in charge of throwing animals in the desert and kill them. They should win the prize of the worst careless place

Don’t miss this experience. Fantastic guides who are knowledgeable about the Falcon history. A great opportunity to hear about the wonderful work this facility does in terms of medical care for a variety of animals, rehabilitation and release of injured wild falcons, and providing a home for wild Falcons that cannot be released due to the nature of their injuries. Photo opportunity with the Hospital’s own Falcons, who are patient, calm & gentle, going from one visitor’s arm to another. Not just for the kids.

Medicine is the cleanest on the planet. But that is why in the Emirates, medical workers are allowed to go in uniform. Why not forbid to wear them. Is it a street style medical uniform? Where it is seen, so that medical staff do not change clothes at work before going out into the street. Please take strict measures for this.

I always felt a little disgusted in New York City when I saw people with a hospital uniform on traveling in the subways or buses, or standing outside during a break smoking a cigarette and walking into cafes or restaurants for lunch. In the hospital I worked at in Italy, nurses were not allowed to go outside in their hospital uniforms. The Falcon Hospital that was under discussion on a post does not have human patients and the only people I saw walking outside the treatment area for the birds were the tourists and the guides. I personally did not see people who were working in the treatment area for the falcons walking outside.

You can make your reservations on line for the tour at the Falcon Hospital. You can get to Abu Dhabi from Dubai by bus it is only 25 dh at the bus stop in Abu Dhabi you can get a taxi to take you to the Falcon Hospital. If your taxi driver doesn’t know where it is. Get out of the taxi and fine another taxi. People are very friendly all around and very safe to ask for help to get to the Falcon Hospital. Believe me is not very difficult. You might need to tell your driver to come back to get you after the tour since the Hospital is a little bit away from the city. The whole thing will be a fun and nice experience.

Official website says prior booking is required for visitor tour.
Couldn't figure out where to book.
Question to those who've reviewed the falcon hospital- did you guys just walk in at 10 AM or did you book and took confirmation? If so from where/whom?

We rang them up approx. 2 hours before the start of the tour at 10 am and enquired about the possibility of joining a tour. They said it was no problem. They did not hand over tickets when we paid.

Has anyone tried their tour with lunch option and was it good value? Was the tent indoors (air-conditioned) or outdoors? I'd like to book for the family on Saturday 7th April.

Whilst I appreciate that this is an elderly post it may be helpful to others to get a price comparison. I had emailed the hospital prior to arriving in Abu Dhabi and was told I could book just the tour directly with the for around 178 dirhams. I waited u til I arrived as I wasn’t sure about other things I wanted to do and which was the best order, but having sotprted this our hotel concierge made me a booking for the very next day at the same price. We travelled about thirty minutes by taxi each way. Even including the price of the taxis, 60 each journey for two of u, we were way better off booking directly compared with the 370 per person quoted by one tour operator. I don’t think that price included a lunch. So make your own way. The hospital will organise taxi returns for you and save some cash for another fab experience. Or donate to the hospital!

A bit late in answering but your cat would end up being a falcons dinner.
