It is a very nice initiative of a group of young artists. They colored the stairs in the immigrants neighborhood and called it stairs of hope. It also has a nice view of the city.

You'll sure have a nice time visiting the top of Mount Qassioun. The atmosphere is great and the view of Damascus is sublime. It's a soothing experience. It would have been even better if there were better restaurants and cafes there.

Visited summer 2010 If you are in Damascus and have some free time, it is definitely worth the drive to see the view from here. It is amazing to see how sprawling the city really is.

A nice view of Damascus from the mountain although I was always disappointed by the cafes and restaurants that are very expensive compared to others and for what they offer. I encountered prostitutes during the day which was a little disturbing. Wouldn't recommend.

You'll see the entire city from this spot. The last time I was there you could sit in one of the many restaurants along the road and have a nice meal.

Driving up the Mount Qassioun for the city view, day or night, is a must. It gets really crowded and noisy at night and on weekends. The place is very basic with little (if none) services. People go there for the view and to simply...More
