It's the best place for visiting the art's gallery in Manama. With the possibility to have one of the best spa of Bahrein.

This big old house sits in the middle of a local neighborhood with some difficulty to park around regardless we hade come half a dozen of times or so and always have got a place.
The house is worth the visit with the bizarre fountain in the middle of the central courtyard which they have switched on (the flow of water) all the times we have been there dining or having lunch; that gives the place a distinctive touch. Food in the restaurant tries to be fine dinning but falls a bit short but all in all it is worth the experience (at least once); we must say that we love the place and even with the shortcoming, we have repeated every once and then. It needs to be said that it's not a cheap place although the prices include VAT and Government taxes.
Apart of exploring the house, they usually have art expositions, a running spa and, in spring or fall, usually a couple of concerts.

After reading all of the reviews, my wife and I decided to give this place a shot and celebrate our much needed date night. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed!

Firstly, parking was very limited as the place sits in the middle of a very busy business neighborhood. After a few minutes looking for a parking space, we entered the premises hoping to get wowed! We were surprised alright....in a bad way. The place, although unique with all of the art displays, is literally empty! To see the art work, you have to pay to get in! Secondly, we requested to be seated outside but the waiter insisted for us to go inside. I think he just didn’t want to serve us outside and take extra steps to cater to us. Then, we could hardly understand him and was very impolite!

When time to order our foods, we were expecting to at least be content with their dishes. Again, another disappointment. I ordered linguine seafood. The pasta was over cooked and douse with olive oil. The sauce was literally made out of oil! My wife ordered Cray fish and it came over cooked! The portions are small and overpriced! We ordered creme brûlée’s for desserts and it was the worst creme brûlée’s we have ever tasted!

Never going back at this place again and will not recommend to anyone. There are many other fine restaurants throughout Bahrain to impress your date but definitely not at this place.

Again, go elsewhere, save your time and money and don’t go to this place!

It is not usual to find this combination but in this particular case it works perfectly.
You can enjoy the art exhibition that is displayed at the moment of your visit and finish it with a really nice meal. Great food, excelente servisse, beatiful gallery and environment. Highly recommend it, if you are in the area do not miss La Fontaine.

Food was not so nice. Organised a corporate event and although we booked for a big group there was not enough food for the whole group which did not give a good impression of the place.

Honestly, I was extremely disappointed as i have booked a table for two dinner and called the restaurant twice to ask them to put extra candles on our table. first of all our table wasn't ready and we had to walk all around the place to call the waiter to light the candles up. the place felt abandoned, quite and dark but not in a good way. the fountain didnt small good and there was no music and thats the least you expect from a place that supposed to be breathtaking and a getaway! the ambiance was nothing like I expected. no one was there at the reception to guide us where to go. to me it was a complete failure and my night out was ruined. not to mention the lousy area la fontaine is located in. the menu is very poor and the food is below average. It was a mistake!

Went to this place for a "special occasion" with my wife. Used to live in Bahrain and had been here before so thought that this was a safe bet. Forget it, probably the worst meal we have had anywhere for a long time! Not sure where to start.
1) We were the only people in the restaurant, which the waiter told us was usual. A warning sign if there ever was one.
2) tomato soup - tasted of everything but tomato. Sent back!
3) Scallops - good but not as advertised. Meant to have orange truffle sauce but was a balsamic glaze.
4) Crayfish - not the big one where you get the tail, but little ones which were overdone and smothered in garlic
5) Creme brulee - the creme was curdled, I think from cooking to high a heat.
Would not go back. The chef came out to greet some guests who arrived after us, probably the owner's family but could not be bothered to come over and ask what was wrong and apologise.
A place which Gordon Ramsay should visit

i have been attending weddings for a couple of times in this place. i have no negative things to mention except for the food. I would say that is decent but not wow! especially when you go in such place you expect a certain level.
the service ladies also were poor. on the other hand, i like the place, atmosphere, the low lighting and also the spa.
the only downside is the location and the very narrow streets you go through to reach.
