I guess I don't get all the hoopla.
Let me preface this review by saying that I am not Christian, nor am I religious in any manner. However, I do enjoy visiting historical sites--and even Biblical sites, due to aforementioned historical interests. Also, I'm generally...More
We tried once to get in but were unable because they close at 330pm. We made the decision to come back the next day and we were glad we did. First of all, the night before was drizzly and overcast -- no visibility. When we...More
This is a beautiful place with panoramic vistas and amazing views of the Dead Sea area and the Promised Land beyond. There's a small church of Moses on site containing a lot of history and many beautiful mosaics from Byzantine era.
Took the opportunity to visit Mt Nebo on way to Petra via King's Highway. The place is managed by a Private Trust and entry is charged. Nothing extraordinary about the place except view of the Promised land, which on a clear day would be worth...More

We were impressed by the simple but impressive restoration of the place.
it is a nice place to visit with kids as there is plenty of space to run around.
Don't miss out on their great espressos, cappuccino and hot chocolate at the entrance!
We drive here from the Dead Sea to Amman and it was an impressive view and even though we are not externally religious we could see the beauty and religious element of it. Would recommend if it’s on the way to somewhere, rather than going...More

I don't think the Jordanians will let an Israeli guide come over as they get along but don't really like each other. I have never been to Israel but I have heard that border crossings can take up to 3 hours each way, so plan for that. Once you are in Jordan it is really easy to drive to Mt Nebo. You can use google maps to route yourself in a rental car. And at Mt Nebo a guide is not necessary. Many if not all the exhibits are marked in English.
I would not take a taxi from the border. I would see about getting a rental car if possible. I wonder if you can drive a car over from Israel?
