The church has a great history...a few years ago they opened the tunnels under to show how old the hill is as theattached church built on top of it...u will be surprised ...the bell tower if ur interested can give a great view for madaba...More

This is an excellent church at Madaba with a beautiful architecture. You get a beautiful view of Madaba.Nice place to visit.

My son loved this church with its bell tower and secret tunnel system. It was by far our fav attraction. We walked to this church after parking our car near the moab land hotel. We were able to visit number of attractions along the way....More

While there are no Byzantine mosaics here, it's a nice place to visit and see a little of the history of Madaba. Lots of great pictures in their little museum. You can climb to the top of the bell tower for a great view of...More

The church was built on the summit of the old town around 1910-13 directly on the ruins of an older church and is now the oldest church in Madaba where religious rites have been performed without interruption. There are several different parts of the tour....More

Do not spend too much time at the overcrowded church of St Georges and keep your time for the great St Jean church. It has a great collection of pictures of the city from the beginning of the century who show the life as it...More

This church was in the middle of nowhere but so beautiful inside, and right next to the Jordan River. You can buy a white robe for the baptism, if you like.
