Nice complex of beautiful buildings although the expositions feel a bit too small. The place itself is an oasis in chaotic Amman. The cafeteria is nice but a little overprized.

Darat Al Funun is an incredible respite from the bustle of Amman, a beautiful cultural center, and a house for meaningful contemporary art. Its garden and view of al-balad (downtown Amman) provide a serene backdrop for readers and art-lovers alike. Plus, their cafe has the...More

Slightly out of the way but worth the trip. Ever changing exhibitions. Free entry. On the hillside to the north of the downtown area, Darat al-Funun is a superb complex dedicated to placing contemporary art at the heart of Jordan’s cultural life. Highly recommended art...More

It's a nice place to visit and enjoy the traditional architecture as well as the art and musical collections. However, it needs more attention to the gardens and it's really hot in summer, so air conditioning is required in all the rooms.

First it was the garden that attracted me, then the view, then the art exhibition, then the people hanging out there. It's so laid back, unassuming, and yet so splendid.

Walked past without knowing. The entrance to the cafe is half way up the steps. Have added photos to help locate it. The cafe is a great place to relax with stunning views over Amman. The collection of art is eclectic.

This is truly a hidden cultural gem in Weibdeh! A series of old conserved houses, some of which were dwelled by ottoman and British personnels. Free entry, some rooms constantly used for Art exhibitions, another for an exhibition about the life of Khaled Shoman, and...More
