    Fun but very underwhelming
Everyone was talking about Rainbow Street and how we could not miss it, so we checked it out. It was nice to walk around and grab some shawarma, but otherwise, I did not understand what the hype was about. There were a lot of shops selling souvenirs and cafes and restaurants that catered to tourists, but that is about it. Definitely not an authentic experience and the shopping was not what I was hoping, but it was an easy area to walk around and get some quick, inexpensive food.

A few interesting things to see but not somewhere to spend all day.
We had heard that we should visit Rainbow Street while in Amman. While there are a few interesting parts, they are in a relatively small area. A few side streets with colourful umbrellas or bandanas hung from the top of lampposts. A few quirky and interesting looking bars. A few shops mostly selling tourist souvenirs. A few bits of street art. But, not enough to fill a day out. So, worth a quick visit but dont expect to much to see.

    Rainbow street in Amman
Our visit to Rainbow Street, a week before Ramadan, didn't quite match the vibrant atmosphere depicted in online images. Situated high on the hill, reaching there on foot can be challenging, suggesting a taxi might be a more convenient option. While the street hosts various establishments, it seemed dominated by overpriced restaurants, cafes, and stores. However, we discovered a hidden gem – a delightful Palestinian souvenir store that stood out in the midst of the commercial scene.

    Best little secret
Totally peaceful and safe despite neighbourly current situation. People are friendly, much to do ( Dead Sea scrolls, Royal car museum ) and the food is fab. Rainbow Street is great shopping and restaurants

A less traditional side of the city
Overrated in my opinion, but nice enough, I guess. Lots of restaurants, cafes, trendy sort of places with umbrella covered walkways, lampshaded streetlights, Solidarity grafitti, painted steps. There are burger bars, restaurants in old buses (I got a much needed slush!) and some overpriced souvenir shops. I expected much MORE given the hype about how cool it is. It is modern though, so I guess that is the attraction. I got a taxi up and walked back down (easier to explore anywhere in Amman that way, it is very hilly). Nice views of the citadel on the way down.

A wonderful street in Amman, Jordan. Many shops, restaurants, cafes and places of interest like Jara Market and others. This street will be very viral with pedestrians after sunset. Had a short visit in the morning and dine in in one of the restaurants there.

Rainbow Street has definitely changed since 77-81, the years i used to live in Amman. Before there was just the Rainbow Supermarket and the Rainbow Cinema. Now there are many restaurants, bars, souvenir shops but the locals tell me that Jabal Weibdeh is gradually becoming more popular than Rainbow street. However it is worth visiting the souvenir shops to hunt for your souvenirs, and trying one of the restaurants in the evening. During the day there were not too many people around so it is better to come in the evening.

This is a street extending from Jabal Amman 1st circle. From several places along this street one can have a panoramic view of the city center and the old town. 50 years ago it used to be the main street in Amman's most lavish neighborhood. Currently it is a tiled street with restaurants and cafes on both sides. The best time to experience this street is during the afternoons and evenings of the months of April to November. There are also some souvenir shops on this street that sell local handcrafts.

I drove through rainbow street, a lively bustling place. I cannot find a place to review Amman in general and hence am posting it here. Amman is such a unique place for the region and many probably do not realize it. It’s safe, modern and accessible. First off unlike what I found on many online resources, visa on arrival is very convenient and they accept credit cards. Due to past info, I thought we needed only cash and went through money exchange and got ripped off. Get money from any atm after. As a city, it’s maintained really clean and seems very organized. It’s a great place to visit. They have great food, very friendly and hospitable people. Only reality check was that your American dollar is not as strong to be able to spend lavishly.

Not sure if I missed something but I was expecting much more from this street. We walked all of it, there are cafes, shops, and restaurants throughout the whole street but I did not see it as alive as I would expect, maybe because i came at 9pm on Friday but I did not see much. We had dinner in Fatarti restaurant and it was really great, good prices and big portions.

Pretty basic souvenir shopping street with a few coffe shops, fast food offerings and restaurants along the way. None of the famous umbrellas just one side street with colourful wicker baskets. We opted to walk from Rainbow Street down staircases to the Royal Jordan Museum. DO NOT WALK there. We were accosted by youths who first begged then grabbed the chased us while throwing rocks and bottles. The Museum is really nice and has an exceptionally good area for kids to learn about inventions.

Had a slow walk along the Rainbow Street from beginning to the end in a late afternoon. It was still quite quiet at that time. Maybe its charm starts only at night. Saw sushi, cafe, and several other restaurants along the way. There was a flat ground near the middle of the road that allows public to enjoy Amman’s hilly view. I chanced upon a very nice cafe called Satar Specualty Coffee that brews professional coffee. As always, the Jordanian owner was extremely welcoming and friendly. You can drop by for a cup of great coffee if visiting the street.

We stumbled upon this great little falafel spot as we were walking down Rainbow Street. We bought a small pack of six falafel balls just to hold us down until we about where we wanted to go for dinner and just so that we could taste it. It was a bit dry and slightly undercooked perhaps if we weren’t rushing the guy it would’ve come out well done.
