We spent a full day with Joel on a tour that he customized to our interests, and we had a terrific experience! Much more than just a "tour guide", Joel brought a deep understanding of the "big picture" from ancient history to present-day culture. We...More

Thanks so much! The most meaningful and rewarding part of this review for me is that your kids liked me so much. :-) Was great guiding you and your family, and I hope we'll have many more opportunities to do so in the future. Best,...More

We were lucky enough to tour the Mahane Yehuda shuk with Joel. What a wonderful experience! The shuk is very busy, very crowded and quite overwhelming- I can’t imagine attempting to navigate it with our kids on our own. Joel made it so easy, educational,...More

Thanks so much! To be fair, I probably didn't get that much information into the 2-year-old's head, but still... ;-) Was lovely guiding you, and hope to do it again sometime some where!

Joel knows the latest and greatest about Machane Yehudah! I'd do the same tour again, given the perfection of what we ate and the deep foodie and Jewish knowledge he has to offer. Fantastic, one of the best things I've ever done in Israel!

Thanks, Jordanna! I don't typically explicitly get into whether there is a truly "Israeli cuisine" (I think there is) and if so, what it would encompass. But I'm glad you connected those dots and drew that conclusion, because I'd agree that that is a huge...More
