Fantastic zoo. Huge. Interesting. So many animals. The recommendation for a 2-3 hours visit is a joke - you can spend them an entire day easily and still not see everything. An absolute must. Ticket prices are very expensive but well, you are in Israel, everything is.

This place needs to get its act together it has not changed in years. Staff that work here are lazy and untidy. A gift shop run by Arabs that are rude and refuse to speak Hebrew. It has to be the worst gift shop ever. It’s definitely needs new management ASAP

We recently visited the zoo. Admittedly it was January so that may have impacted some of the animals, but I was not overly impressed. Just not a lot to see. Still not sure I understand why it is called a biblical zoo. The petting zoo part was pretty good.

When our grandchildren are visiting us, we often take them to this great zoo. I prefer to start at the end of the zoo, i.e. walking in the direction of Noah's ark. By the time we get there, the children are tired of walking and it is time to stop for a snack or cold drink/popsicle. Then you can board the park's train for free and ride back to the center of the zoo where you can either continue to visit the rest of what's left or go back to the parking lot/bus stop.

We spent a very enjoyable few hours here with two of our children - of very different ages. And everyone had a great time. The animals seem well cared for and have plenty of space in which to move around, which is important to us. When we were there it was just starting to get hot in Israel and despite good shady areas for the animals we did wonder how those with thicker fur coped in the heat. But as an attraction - we really enjoyed it.

Although the actual zoo is pretty nice, the staff was atrocious. I was discriminated against and refused the discount i deserved because the "Manager" discontinued the "Student discount" (for my group) on the spot. You'd think a student Visa would suffice for proof thats we're students... Anyways their price per Standard Adult is 58nis not 40 like i saw on their website a week before coming...

I've been taking my three years old son every half a year or so since his first birthday. Always a lot of fun. It has a great playground, a petting area where you can pet the goats. One of the best things is the cage of the suricatas, it has with tunnels the children can get into them and look at the cage from the inside.

The Biblical Zoo is usually open from 0900 to 1700 and located just on the south east outskirts of jerusaem near the Malha Mall and Train station and can be reached easily by car or bus It costs around 55 NIS for adults ( 42 NIS for senior citizens ) and is free under 3 yrs Parking is a bit limited so it helps to get there early The layout of the Zoo is very compact but affords a wonderful feeling of nature with the mix of flora and fauna
There is a map to follow and there are scheduled feedings and shows that are worth seeing Small grass areas allow for resting and mini picnics Do use the restrooms just inside the main gate before going on the exciting tour There are also interactive displays along the route and I recommend about a 4 hr visit

I grew up in Pittsburgh, PA where we have a great zoo, so I wasn't expecting to be too impressed.
The zoo is a little hard to get to with public transport (2 buses from the city center), but it was well worth it!
There were a few animals I hadn't seen before and the zoo has a very relaxed and natural vibe. There's lots of grass and benches where people were having picnics or just relaxing, and the staff was very nice and helpful.
We loved the pygmy monkeys and watching the lions and chimps get fed (lions are only a couple times a week). The lion is given his food inside of a bag, which the trainer said is challenging for him to open and mimics the focus that would be required for catching food in the wild.
Overall, it was a very pleasant experience and I would definitely go back.
Also, we saw an animal that I don't ever remember seeing in real life, but did watch a TED talk about! (It's called a "tapir")

Spent three hours today at this Zoo which was far too short to thoroughly enjoy this attraction. Make sure you allow more time. Must do - visit the lemurs and feed the lories.
Next time I am in Jerusalem I am going to set aside a whole day so I can do this Zoo justice.

Is the zoo and aquarium in the same location? I see tickets are sold separately. Can we walk to the aquarium once we’re done with the zoo?
Also do tickets have to be purchased in advance? Is there a chance they will be sold out if we buy at the zoo?
Thanks!
