Would have loved to see the dome but was not allowed to get close because I am a Jew. Funny that a religion which purports to be peaceful, can create such racist zealots.

The best attraction in Jerusalem is the Dome of the Rock located in the Temple Mount. The structure itself is made with patterned tiles. Going inside the vicinity of the Temple Mount, one must be modest in their attire. Even for men, no shorts, if...More

We entered this area via the ramp from the Western Wall. There were two men who handed out scarves to women wearing sleeveless shirts, and long skirts to men and women wearing shorts, for their use while in the area. I had a short-sleeved shirt...More

Stunning place just before one visits the Wailing Wall. One experiences a tremendous sense of peace, space and beauty.

This is a major landmark that can be seen all over the Old City of Jerusalem. Apparently this is where the Temple was meant to be have been but as Jesus predicted it was destroyed in AD 70

Such an interesting place to walk about and explore. Seeing the dome up close is impressive. I was not open while I was there so I have to seen inside but outside is amazing. Advice, no shorts allowed here. They will give you a skirt...More

Yes, it is a mark point for many. It is on Temple Mount. That means that the Bible temple(s) was there. It is at the center of big disputes between Jews and Muslims. It is clean, but when you are there you feel the tension....More

We turned up on a rainy November morning, and though it seemed to keep the crowds away, the beauty of the Dome of the Rock was undiminished. You cannot be content with long-range photos or the television, you just have to see it for yourself....More

After reading so much about this place, I kind felt little disappointed when visiting this site. Since it is Ramadan, the visiting hours has been limited from 7:30AM to 11:30AM. We couldn't make it in our first visit. My friend (who was very modestly dressed...More

I took a little gorilla pod (a small tripod for my phone) and it was taken by security at the checkpoint. No problem though, I just picked it up later.

Selfie sticks are forbidden so I would guess a tripod is also forbidden. It can be used as a weapon.
