The northen gate in the old city wall since the year 1539 The name Herods is a mistake as Herods Palace location as we know today is in the Tower of DAVID Citadel. The gate leads to the Moslem Quarter,a nice street Flowers Gate street...More

Herod's Gate or Bab-az-Zahra is in the the northern wall of Old city of Jerusalem, this Gate is near the Muslim quarters, and also hosts veg & fruit Market in the morning, with local butchers and bakeries.

Herod's gate is not as popular for tourists as a few of the other gates due to location. However, if you find yourself taking the ramparts walk North and exiting at the end of it you will come out at Herod's gate...it is smaller and...More
