Very interesting museum that gives you the history of the whole area. The real treat is going the elevator upstairs to the top floor where you see a magnificent paranorama view of Haifa.Easy to get there by bus.

We had a guide to show us round the museum. Its really interesting especially if you have someone to explain the relevance of some of the exhibits. Fascinating.

This museum is top-notch if you want to see artifacts that trace the history of the Land of Israel and all of the surrounding and invading civilizations of history. We loved that it was almost empty - and we didn't know about it either until...More

When visiting Haifa, this is a museum that should be on your list. The only difficulty is finding it. That's right. It's located in the basement of the Haifa University tower. If you miss seeing a sign, that's no surprise, and if you go when...More

It's free. Not to many artefacts but descriptions, oh they are priceless. If you don't have much time in Haifa consider going there as it may take you lots of time to go from one to the other side of city. But if you go...More

We were impressed with the quality of the exhibits and the size of the collection for a small to midsize museum. The descriptions were very informative and completely translated into English. Parking is hard to find near the musem.

We did not get to see the entire museum but what we saw was impressive. It is a hidden gem inside the University, free of charge, and very accommodating staff members.

It is based on a private collection, thence a bit eclectic. A really, really very interesting archaeology collection (although not as big as in The Israel Museum) and paintings, mainly of Jewish descent, including Isaac Levitan, Soutine, Modigliani (a canvas used on both sides) etc....More

The museum is indeed open during the summer. I suggest you look online for the hours but my guess is 830 to 4 pm Sun-Thursday and different hours Fri and Saturday.. Enjoy.
