About
It was St. Mary of Jesus Crucified (Mariam Baouardy) who, led by the Lord, indicated the place of the Order of Carmel monastery on top of the hill of David which is in front of the hill of the Nativity Church. The monastery was inaugurated in 1876 while the Chapel was blessed in 1892. You can visit the Chapel and the museum where all the belongings of St. Mary of Jesus Crucified are.

We're blessed and glad that we visited this place. This is part of the tour with our group. Make sure you come in the morning because there was a lot of people around afternoon.

Memorable and Interesting- Bethlehem

Bethlehem was our first stop on a day long tour. I guess I expected this part of Israel-Palestine to be "tense". If it is, I did not see or feel it. The site of Jesus' birth place was interesting and brought to life His birth. We got there early in the day, so it was not as crowded. It was a lot to take in, but a moving experience for us. We felt safe throughout the visit. Highly recommend!

Whenever you ask or think of carmelite nuns at the holy land ... you will find this place founded by Saint Mary of jesus Crucified the place where you can pray peacefully and meditate passionately <3

This place is a little heaven on earth ... You can find peace , joy , spirituality and LOVE .
Visiting The Carmel of the holy child left a large mark of love in my heart and will do the same for you <3

All my love and prayers to this place and to the discalaced carmelites living in it

Carmel of the holy child -bethlehem

A very unique & divine place to visit ❤️ not only the location of the monastery was chosen by God ( on the hill of David where He received the royal anointing from the hand of Samuel ) but it was also designed by our lord , drawn and founded by our beloved saint ( Mariam Baouardy ) , who was buried in the same convent and her Relicts Can be seen in the monastery 's chapel .

It is a must see in Bethlehem. A beautiful monastery in the heart of Bethlehem. The place of the Palestinian Saint Mariam Bawardi. A Warm and spiritual place. When you go there and meet sister Firyal, you will know what am talking about....AMAZING.
