Jewish tourists can only look from afar, best view from above Road 60 or from the northern tip of the city of Efrat. Sadly this is the case, and we can only hope access will not be denied according to this criteria in the future. The pool are run down but research and reconstruction could happen if authorities cooperate with Israel, I hope this happens soon.

sure - this is quite an important place to visit - as its effectively an engineering monument which shows how good water supply was in ancient times. The true place is nice for pick nick - but the pools are dirty and a bit let down for being a monument; it seems no one cares about them....

Great picnic place

We walked to Solomon's Pools today. The walk takes you through a light industrial area. The pools themselves are fenced off for repairs. There is a children's playground near the second pool. Behind the pools is a small pine forest which is green and lovely. Great for a picnic. Sadly there is quite a bit of rubbish. The last pool is nearly empty so all the work to make it is visible.

About three miles south of Jerusalemnear Beith Lehem,actualy in the village El Hader part of the A Area-Palestinian Authority,you have to visit in an organised tour
The three pools are part of the Jerusalem water system.Nothing to do with King Solomon

It is Sultan's pool but TripAdvisor does not recognize the name

There is a confusion between 2 places in Jerusalem area: Solomon's pools which is an archeological site near Beith Lehem and Sultan's pool. The Sultan's pool (its correct name does not appear in TripAdvisor) is an ancient water basin by the west side of Mount Zion. It had been an archeological site since the time of Sultan Suleiman the Great. Nowadays it is an open air amphitheater where all kinds of performances and happenings are hosted. You can see there classic operas as well as ethnic or rock performances during summer months. The place is very picturesque near the walls of Old City of Jerusalem. It also has unique micro climate. It can be really cold there at night even after a very hot summer day. People come with jackets and even blankets. Mostly recommended if you visit Jerusalem when performances are held there.

Solomond's Pools..The real ones

I rated the Solomond's Pools as a place I visited and was asked to write a review. So I will, however, the place I visited was not a concert venue but a series of ancient aqueducts in the Bethlehem Area. I passed by them as part of the Artas Lettuce festival on 4/12. The Festival included a hike through the village lands of Artas. Both the hike and the festival come recommended.

I went for some outdoor music events in the summer. Liked the artists and had a good time, good sound. Sometimes it can get cold in the evenings in Jerusalem.

There are regular festivals held at Solomons Pools, nearly every weekend there is something different on, from art and crafts to rock concerts
