Really cool, well preserved mosaics. Area is on the dodgy side, but less oppressively touristy than Sultanahmet. Stroller was an issue, but staff (aside from ticket booth) quite helpful.

After hearing The Chora museum was being converted to a mosque, I had to go one more time while it was still posible to visit. It is still undergoing renovation work which I hope the continue. At the present time all the mosaicsthat were not under going renovations were still visible. THe gift shop has also been removed. If you have the chance to go in the near futrue I would highly recommend it. The entrance fee was 65 lira.…

The beautiful Chora Museum, with its mesmerising mosaics and frescoes, is one of the unforgettable places in Istanbul. It's a rip-off! First of all, there is only 2 tiny rooms with hardly anything to see! And IF the mosaics are real, then they only go back to the 14th Century. I'd happily pay the huge fee if the mosaics were from like the 2nd century or something, but it's not. I was literally in there for 2 minutes. SAVE YOUR MONEY!…
