The historic district never gets old for us no matter how far off the beaten path each trip brings us. There are always nooks and crannies to be found, hidden gems amongst our tried and true favourites. No trip to Istanbul would be complete without a wander or two through the streets and alleys of Sultanahmet.

Clean, fun and full of history as well as super secure. Roam around or take the T1 tram to move from stop to stop to see the heritage sites and admire the views. Don't forget to sample the food and shop as your go. We had tons of fun walking and specially during the COVID, it was far less crowded than it usually is. Absolutely recommended.
