A nice well maintained garden with manicured lawns and a pond. It also has statues of Iranian kings .

It is tecnically located in the presidential palace, besides the Rudaki Park. Good place for pictures.

Obviously you cannot expect too much from a city which most exciting place is a flagpole...well, I was surprised how big impact this huge and elegantly wiggling flag can have on the ambiance of the whole city.

At one time it was the tallest in the world at 541ft (165m). The flagpole is located in front of the Palace of Nations in Dushanbe.

Big flag on a very tall pole. Arguments about its ranking on the flag pole scale; I don't think it's the tallest in the world...but in all fairness it's the biggest I've ever seen. Set in a nice park.

To be admired from the distance. The general public cannot access the park that houses the flagpole. But that's no problem as it's so tall you can spot it from all over town....apparently the flag itself weights one ton.

It is apparently the tallest flagpole in central Asia. You can't miss it and the flag is enormous. Why not?

This is the world's tallest flagpole. Apparently. Not much more to say about it really, except it's got nothing to do with flags, and everything to do with political egos.
