About
Chinggis Khaan Statute complex is situated 54 km from Ulaanbaatar City, with the view of beautiful natural scenery on the bank of the Tuul River, a historical place where Chinggis khan’s golden whip was found. Today, for a memory of the man of the millennium, a 40 meters high stainless steel statue of Chinggis Khaan on a horseback is the largest among the statues in the world. Inside the statue we operate a restaurant, souvenir shop, two museums and conference hall. Visitors can go up the statue using the elevator or the stairs to the head of the horse where they can have a panoramic view of the beautiful landscape.

most iconic landmark outside of UB
It is impossible traveling to Mongolia without visiting its most iconic landmark (50km outside of UB) , a 40m-high glistening silver Chinggis Khaan statue. Constructed in 2008 from stainless steel, the dramatic statue has a lift rising up its tail, from where there are steps to the horse’s head. It was built here, so the legend goes, because this was the spot where Chinggis Khaan found a golden whip

Chingiz Khan Statute – As Big As His Conquest
Situated about 50kms from the City of Ulanbaatar, the drive to this place is scenic and also passes through picnic spots along fresh water stream. The statue supposedly made of aluminium or steel is mammoth in size, and visitors can go upto the level of the horse head, for a selfie or enjoy the scenery around. The complex also houses a simple museum containing replicas of Mongolian clothing, armory, utensils, saddles, etc, and couple of extra-ordinarily large size Mongolian boot and whip of the horse. In the complex you would also find the book on The Secrets of Mongul – illustrating the life-history of Chengis Khan. The book has been a work of 13 years research by a Mongolian illustrator, who is present in the building and signs to personalize your copy upon purchase. – The book is worth a buy.

You might only travel to Mongolia once
I read a lot of reviews before deciding to come here and the reality is that you have to make up your own mind. Yes, it is just a big statue and yes it will cost some money. The question you have to ask yourself about these types of things is: when are you going to come back? Also, is this an experience you can get somewhere else? For me, the answer to these two questions was no. I am glad that I made the pilgrimage out here. I got an experience and some cool photos that probably most people will never have. And that was worth it for me.

Saw a review that it’s worth to see it. Hence, I arranged a car to take me there. It’s about an hour drive from UB and when you arrive, you will see this stunning large statue of chinngas Khaan. That’s one of the best part. Second best part will be going inside, take the lift to the top floor (3/f) and see the face of Chinngas Khaan. You can then take photos of it. I then went to the basement and see the exhibits. The display is average. There’s nothing else to see. The museum in UB would be better. If you pass by, then, can see this statue. If you go there specifically, taking an hour drive to see it, I don’t think it’s worth the time and money.

If you come to UB for a visit, this place is a must do. You can also pair it in a day with the national park (gerseli or something like that). Brush up on your history and this guy’s life before going to enjoy the experience a bit more. They could do a lot more to make this place more appealing, but I guess tourism isn’t what Mongolia is known for. In any event, get a photo at the top of the statue and another down the bottom sitting on camel with an eagle on your arm 👍

With his 40 meters high, this is the highest equestrian statue of the wort ( record that will soon be surpassed by the giant under construction in Mumbai with 212 meters of height dedicated to Shiv Smarak )
The completely iron equestrian statue was build in 2008
Impressive

I wouldn't call it a bad tourist trap but it does have some of the characteristics of one. It has been planned to be conveniently located near to UB for one day and half day tours on your way to the nearby National Park. There is a good little museum at the bottom of the complex, coffee shops etc. but it suffers from its popularity when bus loads of tourists arrive. The viewing platform is usually packed and hard to get a decent shot from. The complex carpark is surrounded by gorky tourist offerings such as camel rides, archery and dancing eagle pictures which I found a little distasteful (at least there weren't dancing bears). One hour is sufficient to see everything.

The building is very far from the city, but it is a historic location in the life of Genghis Khan. If you can walk up the steps in the building, the vista from the horse's head is breathtaking.

This is an amazing sight. The first glimpse of this huge 40m high, shiny statue, set against the blue sky and white snow is incredible. Using the stairs or the lift, one can go up into the body to experience wonderful views. There is a small museum in the lower floor which has a map of Ghengis Khan's empire. So impressive. A definite must see.
