A large statue come monument we came across in our strolls. Still significant to the local people where it is venerated.

As the title says it’s a statue. Location wise it’s along the Mekong River and better at night for photos. At the rear of the statue is a large fountain with colourful dragons in it. It wasn’t switched on though 🙄

This statue of King Chao Anouvong stands in the park overlooking the Mekong River. The statue is quite tall and looks majestically across to Thailand. A good place to view sunset.

This statue is of Chao Anouvong, apparently the last person in the Kingdom of Vientiane. It is located in a park just right opposite Mercure Vientiane Hotel. The park is very well kept and the monument is frequently being patronised by the locals. Good to...More

This statue stands alone in a not very well maintained park area where 2 main roads diverge. Don't go out of your way to see it.

Situated in an extremely well kept park at the entrance to the city. Our taxi driver pointed it out specifically and proudly.
